Patrollers are a group of experienced users who are entrusted for making frequent, excellent edits. The position comes with three primary features:
- Patrollers' own edits are automatically marked as patrolled.
- Patrollers can mark others' edits as patrolled.
- Patrollers can use the rollback tool to revert edits.
Patroller rights can be received by being nominated/nominating yourself at Inkipedia:Requests for Rights. After a nomination, users will vote whether the nominated user should receive the rights. In addition to providing a few extra tools for good editors, one of the primary reasons the position exists is to help alleviate the backlog of unpatrolled edits. As a result, patroller tools are typically handed out for users who frequently edit. If a user doesn't have patroller tools, that is no indication that they aren't trusted or don't make good edits!
Patrollers are welcomed and encouraged to help alleviate the backlog of unpatrolled edits by patrolling others' edits. However, patrollers are not required to or even expected to patrol edits, and will not lose their position for not doing so. Patrollers who do wish to patrol edits should mark any edits that they review as patrolled.
Demotion
Editors that have not edited in a month may be subject to demotion. Resuming regular editing and contacting an admin will often result in reinstatement of rights.
Current Patrollers
An up-to-date list can be fetched using Special:ListUsers/patrol.
These users were chosen by administrators and will serve indefinite terms until they resign, become inactive, or are impeached by the community.
