Competitive Viability
The worst of the worst, the New Squiffer struggles in competitive play badly. The weapon has weak range, to the point where it can't even be considered a sniper, and it must get up close for kills. The problem with being close is perfect aim is necessary or the squiffer will be an easy kill for the other team. The Ink Mine sub does literally nothing to help with this, and the Inkzooka special leaves the squiffer even more open to attack, so it is certainly challenging to pull off in competitive. If you're going to use a squiffer, use the Fresh Squiffer, but otherwise there is almost no chance with the New Squiffer.

The New Squiffer is a Main Weapon in Splatoon.

Description

The New Squiffer is nearly identical to the Classic Squiffer, but with a red and yellow starburst sticker. It now comes with the Ink Mine and Inkzooka.

Sheldon has used the blueprints to adjust the sub and special setup. Trap your opponents in a sticky situation with the sub, or deliver a long-range strike with the special.

Notes

While this weapon shares the upsides and downsides of the Classic Squiffer, the addition of Ink Mines, in particular, add effectiveness to hit-and-run attacks and objective control. With no Bubbler to keep you safe, consider using the Defense Up ability so you can absorb more damage.
