Retro Gamer Jersey

The Retro Gamer Jersey is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, it is a 3-star item produced by Zink and comes with the primary ability Quick Respawn. It can be purchased from Jelly Fresh for  9,000.

In Splatoon 2, it is a 3-star item produced by Zink and comes with the primary ability Quick Respawn. It can be purchased from Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe for  9,000 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  13,500.

In Splatoon 3, it is a 2-star item produced by Zink and comes with the primary ability Quick Respawn. It can be purchased from Man-o'-Wardrobe for  9,000.

Appearance

The Retro Gamer Jersey is a dark red zip-up jacket that is white from the chest down. It has a somewhat high collar and two pockets lined with red despite being in the white area of the jacket. On the right side of the chest is the text from the Zink logo in white, and on the left is the full logo. Down each sleeve is a long white arrow with the Inkling text from the Zink logo again, this time in red and repeated several times. The collar, hem, and ends of the sleeves are all lined with a slightly lighter and shinier material than the rest of the jacket. There is also a larger version of the Zink logo on the back in white.

Abilities

The Retro Gamer Jersey comes with Quick Respawn as the primary ability. As a 3-star item, the Retro Gamer Jersey comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Zink gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Super Jump and a lower chance of rolling Quick Respawn to fill its secondary ability slots.

Splatoon 2

Abilities

The Retro Gamer Jersey comes with Quick Respawn as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 3-star item, the Retro Gamer Jersey comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Zink gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Super Jump and a lower chance of rolling Quick Respawn to fill its secondary ability slots.

Splatoon 3

Abilities

The Retro Gamer Jersey comes with Quick Respawn as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 2-star item, the Retro Gamer Jersey comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Zink gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Super Jump and a lower chance of rolling Quick Respawn to fill its secondary ability slots.

Trivia

• The Retro Gamer Jersey is tied with the Camo Zip Hoodie for most expensive gear with Quick Respawn in Splatoon but not Splatoon 2, because of the addition of the Tea-Green Hunting Boots.
  • Even though the Tea-Green Hunting Boots do not make an appearance yet in Splatoon 3, the Squid Satin Jacket is now the most expensive gear with Quick Respawn.
• The Retro Gamer Jersey is the most expensive gear by Zink in Splatoon, Splatoon 2, and Splatoon 3.
• The Retro Gamer Jersey's design is based on that of the Family Computer, the Japanese version of the Nintendo Entertainment System. This is directly referenced in its Japanese name, "FC Jersey".
• The Retro Gamer Jersey is called a jersey in spite of the fact that it is clearly a jacket.
