Introduction

Hey there, friends! I'm 27, LGBTQIA+, and accept any pronouns to describe me. I've been a Nintendo fan since I was a child, and used to do some gaming journalism up to a couple years ago with a mid-sized publication. I'm looking at improving my skills and becoming more immersed in the culture and fandom of Splatoon's competitive and enthusiast scene!

Progress In Splatoon 3

I've completed the entirety of Return of the Mammalians, including having completed all exploration of all Sites, and all Kettles with all Weapon options including After Alterna. I've achieved capped Salmon Eggs in Return of the Mammalians, and am up-keeping that as I spend 999 daily on deploying my Shel-drone.

I've completed Season 1 of the Wandercrust Tour and Season 1 of the Catalog. I've acquired every piece of Headgear, Clothing, and Shoes available as of version 1.1.2.

Splatfests

I take pride in making my Splatfest decisions without respect to which idol picks which team, however their charisma and personality does influence my decision since I do consider the arguments of each idol. For instance, at a glance I was going to choose Team Fun for the Gear vs. Grub vs. Fun, but Shiver's argument of living in comfort, unbothered, managed to sway me.

Rock Ruler+3 Rock was the first option. Since there's not really any conversation to be had about Rock vs Paper vs Scissors, I just went with whichever one came first in the phrase.
Gear vs. Grub vs. Fun

Gear Ruler+9 I was going to pick team Fun, because it was silly and goofy. Upon hearing the in-game announcement however, Shiver said "I'll HARVEST food and live in comfort. Unbothered. Meanwhile, you'll be shivering in the dark, eating ice-cold enchiladas off a leaf." Even to Big Man's argument about bringing cards or something fun, Template:GENDER had the response of "Who are you going to play against? A caterpillar? And how will you stay warm?"

I can't keep on a fun-crusade when all other arguments have been so thoroughly dismantled, and thus had to go with team Gear.

Grass vs. Fire vs. Water

I haven't yet decided which team to go with. I'm sort of leaning towards fire since the Pokémon this event is about features Fuecoco as its fire-type choice among its starter Pokémon, but seeing as how I have minimal interest in this iteration of the series, I'm going to go with whichever team most of my friends are using.

Player Skill Progression

I'm still looking at getting better at the Anarchy Battle Modes, my favourites right now are Rainmaker and Splat Zones. I'm constantly learning to try and become a better team player at all modes, with a need to focus on improve my cooperative skills in Clam Blitz. I keep up to date on what high level competitive players are doing to increase their own performance, and employ their strategies for myself.

My play-style ends up as somewhere between a slayer and skirmisher for most of the time in my matches due in part to my preference for the Splattershot series of weapons. I practice doing drills with other weapons at times too, but find Splattershots simply more fun to play for me. It's impossible for me to aim with the Splat Charger or the E-liter 4K. As a result many of my drills go into improving performance on those weapons so I can hopefully aim at all one day.
