Help?

Okay, I'm really confused. I don't know how to work anything on the wiki, how this operates, and I'm horrible at Splatoon. I need some serious, serious help and advice.PeriwinklePanther32 (talk) 02:49, 21 November 2015 (UTC)PeriwinkkeReply[reply]

Yeah the wiki can look complicated and weird at first, but it's really pretty simple. There's just two kinds of pages you need to worry about. The first is the main articles (or "mainspace"), stuff like... White Tee, Moray Towers, jellyfish, yknow. The second is Inkipedia stuff, like user pages, projects, etc. They both work the same, just hit "edit" up at the top to make changes. If you want, there's a bunch of thing to read in Help:Contents and more on MediaWiki, but here's my quick little rundown on how to add good stuff:
  • Always write in third person, no contractions.
  • Keep the aesthetics of a page in mind.
  • Lurk around other people's edits, it'll help you get a good feel for things.
  • Double check your edits! I forget this a lot haha
  • If you're not sure about something, ask about it on the Ink Pump or on the appropriate person's talk page.
Uh... as for not being good at Splatoon, get a real easy weapon and just keep playing Turf War til you feel comfortable with it. For me, that weapon's the Aerospray RG. It gets a bad rap, but it's easy to do well with.
So yeah. 😛 --Bzeep! talk 04:39, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks! Looks like I just need to practice more. PeriwinklePanther32 (talk) 14:14, 21 November 2015 (UTC)PeriwinkleReply[reply]

Periwinkle reminds me of myself from when I was new to this site, back in July. If you need any help, you could come to my talk page and ask me anything that's concerning you. Stay fresh! --Sigma talk 15:08, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, I think I've realized part of my problem. I seem to be splatted more in games than other inklings... My favorite weapon to use is the neo splash-o-matic, and I feel pretty comfortable with it, although I think super jumping into bad places has become a habit of mine. That, or I'm just a really bad player and I'm doomed to never be good at this, lol. But thanks for all of the helpful tips so far- I'll keep practicing and I hope to comtribute to the wiki more! Hey, Periwinkle, if you'd like, I could add a Splatfest section to your page if you give me your teams and Splatfest titles. Oh, also, you could friend me and I could show you a few tips n' tricks in Splatoon. :) --Sigma talk 22:54, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That sounds great, thanks! I started playing in late august- my first splatfest would've been Autobots vs. Deceptions, but I missed that one, and not by choice. Then I was a Science Champion, Plane Fiend, and finally a Pirate Queen. There should be another Splatfest soon, correct? They happen about once a month, I've noticed... I honestly don't know how I manage to do it- I was splatted five times in my last round of Turf War. Does anybody have any suggestions or useful strategies for a user of a shooter weapon? PeriwinklePanther32 (talk) 23:28, 21 November 2015 (UTC)PeriwinkleReply[reply]
