Version 4.3.0 is an upcoming update to Splatoon 2 that will be released on 5 December 2018. It is the last update for Splatoon 2 that will add new weapons.

New Content

Blackbelly Skatepark

The map will get renovated, similarly to The Reef and Starfish Mainstage.^[1]

Stages

The announcement image for the renovations to Blackbelly Skatepark.

The Reef underwent renovation, similar to the changes made to Starfish Mainstage in Version 4.0.0 and The Reef in Version 4.2.0.
- As one of the changes made is adjusting the balance of the stage for the Rainmaker mode, Blackbelly Skatepark appearing in the Ranked map rotation in December 2018 is the first time it did since December 2016 (in Splatoon)

Weapons

Four variants of existing weapons will be added to the game - Custom Explosher, Ballpoint Splatling Nouveau, Bloblobber Deco, and Nautilus 79. Now, every weapon will have a version with a different sub and special.
In addition, a fourth Kensa Collection will be released, containing the Kensa .52 Gal, Kensa Glooga Dualies, Kensa Mini Splatling and Kensa Rapid Blaster.

Abilities

Existing gear abilities Bomb Defense Up and Cold-Blooded will be combined into a single ability, Bomb Defense Up DX.
- The new ability will have the same effect as equipping both the old ones, with no downgrade.
- Existing Ability chunks and drink tickets will also be converted.
An additional new ability, Main Power Up will also be added to gear as well as in secondary ability slots.
- This ability's effect will vary between different main weapons, even in the same class. Examples given are:
  - Splattershot - increase shot accuracy when firing while jumping.
  - Aerospray MG - increase ink coverage.
  - Splat Roller - increase damage.
  - Heavy Splatling - increase duration of firing in a burst.
  - Undercover Brella - speed up Brella canopy regeneration.
  - Inkbrush - Slightly increase movement speed while inking.
