Breeze 2023 was a Splatoon 3 LAN tournament that was held at the Pendulum Hotel in Manchester, UK. Counting spectators, it is currently the biggest Splatoon LAN tournament ever to be held in Europe in terms of attendance, with 350 attendees.
Details
The first day of the tournament featured group stages for 35 teams, with the top 2 teams from each of the 8 groups going through to the double-elimination bracket on the second day. An afterparty for up to 100 people was held on the evening of the first day at the Retro bar, which is located right across from Pendulum Hotel. [1]
At around the same time as the double-elimination bracket, a single-elimination Salmon Run tournament was also held, where 9 teams competed for the highest Golden Egg score in pre-decided job scenarios. This tournament was won by High Tide Fog. [2] [3]
An artists' alley and a standalone Beyblade tournament (which was won by Sandblaste)[4] were available during the event, in addition to custom-made Tableturf cards featuring different iterations of Breeze's mascot, Breeze-chan.
All the details about groups and brackets can be found on its start.gg event page. Livestreams for certain sets on both days were simultaneously broadcasted to the Splat UK channel on YouTube and Twitch.
Standings & prizing
The tournament operated with a prize pool split between the top 3 placing teams, with the minimum tournament payout being £500 (€579) and featuring incremental increases with attendance. The total amount is the combined sales of event passes (not venue fees) rounded up to the nearest £10.
