A sandbox is a type of personal user page where editors may freely practice editing at their own pace. Content added to sandboxes is not expected to adhere to typical article style guidelines, as they're by design meant to help editors get accustomed to the editing process, and the MediaWiki software in general. Create your own sandbox at YourUsername's Sandbox. Editors of all experience levels are highly encouraged to try out sandboxes!
Potential sandbox uses
- Testing out the wiki editor interface.
- Experimenting with wikicode.
- Article draft preparation before moving to mainspace.
- Keeping wiki-related to-do lists or other such personal wiki notes.
Sandbox rules
- Users are permitted to create an unlimited amount of sandboxes and sandbox subpages, so long as the sandboxes are being used for wiki related purposes, within reason at staff discretion.
- Extensive usage of a sandbox as a personal fanon wiki, fanfiction, or blog page is not allowed.
- Sandboxes are prohibited from including anything that breaks Inkipedia's rules.
- Editing of other users' sandboxes without their permission is prohibited, except for cases of edits done as part of general maintenance, such as updating a link or image filename, reverting vandalism, fixing disruptive broken code, etc. Unless you're fixing something site-wide, try to not do it!
- Editors are free to grant other users permission to edit their sandboxes, overriding this rule.
