Miss Delibirda (talk | contribs | logs) Hello. I would like to apply for administrator, as I enjoy jantorial activites and would like to help out in more ways. Miss Delibirda (talk) 11:00, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

Support

  1. Delibirda has repeatedly proven themself to be a reliable editor, through constructive page additions (primarily in Etymology), managing talk page discussions for both useful responses and removing unrelated banter, and community management both on and off platform. Thumbs up from me. Trig Jegman - 19:26, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
  2. Strong Support- Delibirda is very helpful and polite! They are good with talk page discussions, as they always are polite and helpful with issues. Their edits are all relevant as well, and they are active regularly, as I have seen from watching the Recent Changes. They have amazing amounts of potential! ArivakiVA - 19:34, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
  3. Weak Support- Concur with Trig. Although not necessary, we do need more active patrollers around here. -Xando (ping) 12:48, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
@Xando: "we do need more active patrollers around here" I'm not sure if you noticed, but this is a request for admin, not patroller. Heddy (talk) 12:32, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
@Heddy I know that, my brain just mixed them up while typing it out, haha. I'll watch myself in the future, nice catch. -Xando (ping) 22:24, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

Oppose

  1. Strong oppose. While Delibirda is an experienced editor and patroller, she has made several bad judgement calls on the finer details, in my eyes. I've had information I added to mainspace pages be removed by her several times, when the info in question should have simply been reworded or cleaned up, not fully removed. I have had other mainspace information that was correct be replaced with incorrect information by her. Additionally, the thought of allowing someone who wanted to start linking unreliable Youtube clips on the wiki instead of clean audio rips (a topic which she has brought up in the Discord) to control policies horrifies me. I believe admin rights should be granted to those already displaying the current admins' level of judgement and Mediawiki knowledge, which in my opinion, she currently does not. She has the skillset of an editor, not an admin.
Addendum: Delibirda's lack of explanation as to how admin privileges will help her expand the role she currently fulfills, in addition to her having been active for only 7 months total, lead me to think she is seeking admin rights for the "status", rather than out of genuine need for heightened privileges to complete the edits she is currently enacting. 2. Oppose. I am conflicted on this matter. No doubt I trust the user, and there is no question that this user is active, follows the rules, and is there for the community. But compared to a Patroller, I don't see how the Administrator rights can improve the type of edits they do, especially since this user works on the content of existing pages rather than coding, etc., making administrator rights a rather pointless addition. Factor time also plays a role here, as most admins have been associated with Inkipedia for more than 2 years. Time alone is of course not a huge deciding factor as this user became Patroller faster than an average Patroller but as they are not working on the wiki for that long they are lacking experience. Being wrong or not 100% correct is normal but it shows lack said of experience needed to become an Administrator, which can only be gained through more time and learning. I am opposing for this one as I currently don't see how this improves the wiki at the current date.   Perfectionist   (talk) 20:31, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
  3. I think that 2 months is too short of a time to be a patroller before becoming admin. Inkipedia staffing isn't a speedrun! Show that you can stay active and helpful consistently for a longer period of time and I will be more likely to support a future request. Heddy (talk) 17:12, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

Comments

  • Question: which duties that are currently exclusively handled by admins are you interested in picking up? Yoshifan52 (talk) 20:14, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
@Miss Delibirda: can you please answer this question from Yoshifan52? Heddy (talk) 12:26, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
I must have forgotten to reply, but I mainly wish to do deletion and blocks, but also protect pages, if needed.Miss Delibirda (talk) 12:43, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. Yoshifan52 (talk) 23:05, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
  • Normally, requests are left open for up to 4 weeks. However, Miss Delibirda has stated on Discord: "I retract my request until minimum next year." I will archive this request. Heddy (talk) 21:41, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
