Tips

Here are a few pointers for when you edit Inkipedia:

• Don't ask, just do it

Instead of pointing out a mistake in an article, such as a spelling or grammar mistake, fix it yourself. Unless you absolutely are sure you need confirmation on an edit, just do it!

• Why was my edit reverted?

Don't panic if your edit is reverted, that doesn't mean you should never edit again. You simply just made a mistake. Every person had to start out as a first-time wiki editor. We all have made mistakes before.

• Signatures

Make sure you always sign a message on a talk page with ~~~~. By doing so, you can sign your name after a message. This allows people to know who wrote the message and what time it was put up.

• Talk Pages

Talk pages can be used to help improve an article. If you would like to leave a message on a talk page, make sure it's on topic.

An example of a bad talk page message would be:

"Frye is totally my favorite Deep Cut member!!"

This message has no suggestions to improve the page. Even if the page is about Frye, talk pages are for discussing how to make an article better. While a good message would be:

"I was looking at The Art of Splatoon 3 and saw that Frye was 22 years old in concept art. Is this big enough information to put in the trivia section?"

This message is a good example. The user is asking how we could add additional information that could improve the article. For more information please view: Inkipedia:Policy/Talk pages

By reading policy pages, you'll know what to do and not do! Policies are the rules of Inkipedia. Make sure you follow them when editing.
