Dynamo Roller

The Dynamo Roller is a Main Weapon in Splatoon.

Description

Like all rollers, the Dynamo Roller can cover turf while in motion and fling a large amount of ink at medium range, but high range for a roller. Compared to the Splat Roller, this roller is much slower but covers a larger area while rolling and throwing ink. It comes in a set with the Sprinkler and Echolocator, and can only be purchased after collecting the Sunken Scroll from the DJ Octavio.

“	The Dynamo Roller has a low swing speed and roll speed, but a higher damage output and ink splatter range. This roller is very useful when you have a height advantage over your opponents, standing over a Splat Zone for example. Just raining ink down with your swing can easily capture the zone. The Sprinkler can be used as a distraction for opponents, and Echolocator helps you keep tabs on your opponents so you’re not snuck up on—which can be bad due to the slow attack speed of a Dynamo Roller.	”

Recommended Abilities

The Dynamo Roller is the slowest of all of the weapons in the roller class, leaving the user very vulnerable to enemies carrying weapons with high movement speed. Having Run Speed Up will boost mobility and make moving a lot easier. Note that the rolling speed of the Dynamo Roller is not affected by Run Speed Up.

Along with having the widest ink trail of the roller class weapons, the Dynamo Roller also consumes ink faster than other rollers. Having Ink Saver Main is a big asset, as it reduces the amount of ink the roller uses.

Ink Recovery Up increases the speed ink is recovered in squid form, allowing the Gold Dynamo to spend less time recharging ink.

Name Origin

Dynamo Roller is derived from Dynamo and Roller. Dynamo is a type of an electrical generator, which the Dynamo Roller seems partly based on.

ダイナモローラー dainamo rōrā is the same as its English name.
