It is the decorated version of the .96 Gal.

Description

The .96 Gal Deco has the same stats as the .96 Gal, but instead comes with the Splash Wall and the Kraken. Like the .52 Gal Deco, this gun also has a bedazzled look.

Sheldon's Introduction The .96 Gal Deco is a standard .96 Gal with a little added flair! Unlike the standard .96 Gal, though, you can approch with the Splash Wall, and then...release the Kraken. That would be my strategy, anyway! I'd recommend it to fighters who want to charge the front lines! (NA)

Recommended Abilities

The .96 Gal Deco is an extremely ink-hungry weapon, so mitigating this is a good idea.

With the Version 2.7.0 update, the .96 Gal Deco can be reduced to a 3-hit kill with just one Defense Up main ability or 3 Defense Up sub-abilities. Since the .96 Gal Deco fires slowly for a shooter, a single extra hit needed makes a significant difference, so at least a small amount of Damage Up is strongly recommended.

Swim Speed Up to improve the speed and dangerousness of your Kraken form is always a good idea. Since you can hardly move at all while firing the .96 Gal Deco, improving swim speed is much more helpful than improving run speed.

Splash Walls not only eat up a lot of ink, but you cannot recover the ink they use up right away. Reducing the cost of the Splash Wall helps you stay in the action longer.

The Version 2.7.0 update increased the amount of Special Gauge Loss when an inkling carrying this weapon is splatted from 50% to 75%. Since the Kraken requires 200p to be fully charged (unlike most Special Weapons, which require only 180p), it can be difficult for inklings to fill the gauge completely before being splatted and losing most of their progress, especially if they rely on the Kraken for defense. Special Saver helps mitigate this penalty.

Trivia

• This is the last released weapon to be a re-skin of an original weapon from the game's release.
  • This also means that as of the release of the .96 Deco, every original weapon now has exactly one re-skin (not counting the E-liter 3K Scope or the Octoshot Replica).

Name Origin

.96 Gal Deco is short for .96 Gallon with the suffix Deco, short for either Decorated or Decoration. Deco may also refer to Art Deco. "Gal" is also a play on Cal, short form of Caliber, a term commonly used when describing the diameter of bullets for fire-arms. The suffix Deco is also used to differentiate it from the .96 Gal. This trait is shared among the other alternate sets of the Deco brand.

.96ガロンデコ .96 garon deko has the same origin as the English name, but without Gallon shortened to Gal. Like the English name, Deco is also used to differentiate it from .96 Gallon.
