Template:InfoboxWeapon The Heavy Splatling is a Main Weapon in Splatoon and Splatoon 2, made available in the 2.0.0 August Update.
Description
Splatoon
The Heavy Splatling appears to be a powerful weapon, capable of firing many small blasts of ink at once with damage equivalent to the Dual Squelcher, high range (about that of a Jet Squelcher), and a fast rate of fire. The sub is a Splash Wall and special is an Inkstrike.
“ | Charge it up and let 'em have it with all six barrels! A maximum charge will unleash the full rapid-fire potential of this weapon. | ” |
— In-Game Description
|
“ | This baby packs six barrels full of ink. Charge it up and let your enemies have it! Need some cover? Not a problem. Throw down your Splash Wall! This bad boy also comes with the Inkzooka Inkstrike (Sorry squidfriends, I am too excited to read properly) as a special weapon. It might just be the best weapon for squids that have watched too many 80′s action movies! | ” |
Sheldon's Introduction
The Heavy Splatling is kind of similar to a charger, but it belongs to a whole new weapon class! Hold to pressurize the ink, and then release it to splatterize your foes like DAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKA!! But it uses a lot of ink and takes a while to charge, so this weapon can leave you exposed. Using the Splash Wall to impede your foes before unleashing an Inkstrike can be rather effective! (NA)[a] |
Splatoon 2
The Heavy Splatling returns in Splatoon 2 with a new design, the main difference being the Barrel is now titled and it is primarily yellow instead of orange.[1]

Etymology
Heavy Splatling is derived from the adjective Heavy and a portmanteau of Splat and Gatling.
バレルスピナー bareru supinā is derived from Barrel and Spinner. The name Barrel Spinner is due to the fact that the barrels of the Heavy Splatling rotate while charging and firing.
