Pearl Drone is a form Pearl can freely change to and from within the Memverse in Side Order.

Appearance

Splatoon 3's downloadable content Side Order introduces a new form to her, called the Pearl Drone. This form has Pearl be a small, white flying robot with a round shape and a crown on top similar to the one she wears in Splatoon 2. Her eyes are rendered as a black LCD screen in the shape of an Inkling eye mask, with two white cross shapes representing her pupils. Above them are two levers with a round light yellow button each, looking like Pearl's eyebrows. The drone also has a small hole below the eyes, representing Pearl's beauty mark, and two appendages on the side that have a pink gradient and a sucker-like white circle below, resembling her front tentacles.

Abilities

Similar to Smallfry in Return of the Mammalians, Pearl acts as a companion for Agent 8. Unlike Smallfry, she acts independently, by attacking enemies alongside the player. She can be upgraded by placing color chips inside a Palette, enhancing her abilities or adding sub weapons like Splat Bombs to her arsenal, which have to be charged before use, similarly to special weapons. She is also able to ink the ground like a Sprinkler, summon individual Killer Wail 5.1 speakers, and carry the player like a glider under certain conditions.

When the player is idle in the Order Sector after saving Marina, Pearl may either sleep in drone form, or switch to Inkling form and sit in one of three locations: On the large rock to the left of Marina, on the right side of the roof of the Spire of Order entrance, or on top of the telephone pole on the left side of the Order Sector. She will return to drone form when the player moves.
