Competitive Viability
The Kelp Splat Charger, along with the Splat Charger and Bento Splat Charger, are all nice chargers with a strong enough range to play a dominant, safe charger, but they aren't an E-liter 3K, and because of it they suffer. The Kelp has a Sprinkler, which is really nice, but the Killer Wail doesn't help an awful lot, and because of it the regular Splat Charger gets a bit more use. The Kelp may be seen on close ranged TC maps, but otherwise it will not be chosen over any of the E-Liters in competitive.

The Kelp Splat Charger is a Main Weapon in Splatoon.

Description

The Kelp Splat Charger is in a set with the Sprinkler and Killer Wail. Unlike most weapons, it can be charged. The more it is charged, the farther the ink will go. It also creates a thick line of ink, rather than a blob. This weapon is a type of Charger weapon in Splatoon.

A Splat Charger modified by Sheldon using some seaweed that was stuck to the blueprints. Maybe the Sprinkler sub weapon is meant to keep the seaweed fresh?

Sheldon's Introduction

I created the Kelp Splat Charger' based on my grandpappy's blueprints. Cool seaweed design, right? Though, if I'm honest, it's exactly the same as the Splat Charger in stats.

But this set comes with the Sprinkler to ink hard-to-reach locations while you hold a strategic position!

And the Killer Wail will blow all of your opponents away! Use it well to turn the tide of battle!

Notes

Statistically, this weapon is nearly identical to the Splat Charger. But the Sprinkler/Killer Wail duo promote a more reserved approach. The Killer Wail special is very powerful when aimed down narrow corridors. Consider using the Special Charge Up ability to use Killer Wail with greater frequency.

Recommended Abilities

Having Quick Respawn along with the Kelp Splat Charger allows charger users to jump back into battle and assist the team. Sooner rather than later.

Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value).

Chargers often run out of ink when the user least expects it. Also, the weapon uses a lot of ink when firing fully charged shots. Ink Saver Main reduces the amount of ink used by the charger.

The Killer Wail is some of the most powerful Special Weapons in the game, and those with Kelp Splat Chargers will want to deploy it as much as possible. Having Special Charge Up will increase the speed at which the special gauge fills, allowing the special to be used more frequently.

Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value).

Chargers are hard to move with. Having Run Speed up will increase mobility while in Inkling form.

Swim Speed Up increases mobility in squid form. As chargers are hard to run with, having a higher swim speed can aid in fast escapes.
