The Mint Decavitator is an upcoming main weapon in Splatoon 3, made by Neo. It is a Splatana that has horizontal charged slash and a far strafe. It will be added to the game as part of Sizzle Season 2024 on 1 June 2024.

Appearance

The Mint Decavitator is an oversized toothbrush contained within a large, slotted, clear plastic sheath with a blue hinged cap at its tip and an unknown wordmark on the outside. A Neo logo can also be seen on the handle. The toothbrush bristles are blue and are adorned with a blob of striped toothpaste (alternating stripes of white and the wielder's ink color). When performing uncharged slashes, the toothbrush remains inside the sheath, but during a charged slash the wielder will draw the toothbrush to perform an iaidō-style slash before re-sheathing it.

Etymology

Mint is a common flavoring for toothpaste. "Decavitator" comes from "de-" + "cavity", as toothbrushes are used to prevent tooth cavities. It is also a play on decapitation, or the act of separating the head and body (for example, with a sword).
