Data
- The Neo Splash-o-matic is a middleweight weapon.
- Each shot consumes 0.7% of the ink tank capacity.
- This allows players to fire 142 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
- This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
- When firing continuously, it shoots a bullet every 5 frames (12 shots per second).
- When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.72 units per frame.
- After firing, there is a 20 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
- Each shot has a base damage of 28.
- Shots travel straight for 3 frames. After that, they may lose damage. A shot will lose damage until it reaches 14 damage at frame 15.
- Shots have a radius of 2 units.
- The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 2.7 degrees.
- The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 12 degrees.
- The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. The outer reticle will finish shrinking after 60 frames.
- The chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle increases by 10% per shot, and maximizes at a 40% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle.
- This means that it takes 4 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
- When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 40%.
- Accuracy starts recovering 5 frames after the player stops shooting.
- Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 24 units per frame for 3 frames. Shots travel straight for 72 distance units.
- Ink droplets occur every 80 units.
- The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 1.65 droplets per shot.
- There are a total of 7 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
- Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 22 units.
- Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 19 units.
- All other ink droplets have a radius of 13.2 units.

Sheldon's Introduction
The Neo Splash-o-matic has the same capabilities as the original set, but with new sub and special weapons.
Hit your opponent with Burst Bombs, and then give them a taste of precision shooting!
With the Inkzooka too, this is a set for an aggressive sharpshooter who's not afraid to get messy!

The Neo Splash-o-matic was released on 25 April 2018 as part of Version 3.0.0. It comes with Burst Bombs and the Suction-Bomb Launcher.
Quick facts
A.k.a.: Splash
Strengths: Accuracy, mobility, turfing, Bomb Launcher farming
Weaknesses: Weak damage, short range
Recommended abilities
Ability | Purpose |
---|---|
Main Power Up | Increases main weapon damage up to 33.3 |
Quick Respawn | Shortens respawn time after getting splatted (under specific conditions) |
Use
- While its build has some supportive elements, the Neo Splash-o-matic is primarily a slayer's weapon:
- Its near-perfect accuracy and high rate of fire make it very efficient at splatting opponents within its range.
- Its lightweight nature and Burst Bombs make it very mobile, more so than the Splash-o-matic in Splatoon. Swim Speed Up can further help either close the distance towards an opponent or flee from an unfavorable matchup.
- Like most slayer's weapons, it can benefit from abilities that encourage aggressive play, such as Comeback, Quick Respawn, and Stealth Jump.
- The rapid firing rate and excellent ink coverage of the Neo Splash-o-matic make it an excellent turfing weapon, allowing it to more easily maintain map control, capture Splat Zones, and build up the special gauge.
- The primary weaknesses of the Neo Splash-o-matic is its lack of both damage and range.
- Main Power Up can increase the damage of the Neo Splash-o-matic, capping off at 33.3 with 31 ability points — reached with either one main and seven subs or two mains and four subs. If this is too high an investment, 10 ability points, or one main, are enough to exceed 30 damage.
- Sub Power Up can increase the throwing range of Burst Bombs, compensating for the short range of the Neo Splash-o-matic.
- Sharking and Ninja Squid can help sneak up close to opponents to offset the Neo Splash-o-matic's short range.
- The Neo Splash-o-matic has a higher special gauge requirement than most other slayer's weapons, offsetting its rapid turfing. Special Charge Up can further hasten building up the special gauge, allowing for more Suction-Bomb Launcher use.
- The instant explosion and good ink efficiency of Burst Bombs offer plenty of uses:
- Quickly turfing various inkable surfaces for quick maneuvering and building of the special gauge.
- Either leading off attacks before attacking with the main weapon or finishing off damaged opponents who try to flee.
- When used at the right time, the Suction-Bomb Launcher can turn the tide of a battle:
- Either capturing or holding onto a zone while forcing opponents away from the zone.
- Either leading or stopping a Tower, Rainmaker, or Power Clam push by clearing opponents out of the way.
- Quickly popping the Rainmaker's shield to instantly start or restart a Rainmaker push.
Countermeasures
- Having shorter range and weaker damage than most other typical slayer's weapons, the Neo Splash-o-matic would be at a disadvantage against them:
- All variants of the Splattershot, the L-3 Nozzlenose, and the Splattershot Pro outrange the Neo Splash-o-matic.
- Blasters, rollers, and sloshers easily overpower the Neo Splash-o-matic.
- However, do not overlook its Burst Bombs, as they can provide its user more damage and range than expected from the main weapon.
- Any mid-ranged or long-ranged weapon, such as chargers and splatlings, can fire upon the Neo Splash-o-matic with impunity unless it gets too close.
- To prevent sharking, keep track of all four opponents – particularly which ones have neither been splatted nor super jumped to their spawn point – and turf suspicious puddles of opposing ink, preferably with a sub weapon. Point Sensors, while unable to turf, can expose any sharking opponents.
- Splashdown and Booyah Bomb, if timed properly, can negate the Suction Bombs of a Suction-Bomb Launcher.
- A counter Bomb Launcher can nullify the effects of Suction-Bomb Launcher, preventing its user's team from either capping a zone or continuing a push.
Data
- The Neo Splash-o-matic is a lightweight weapon.
- The matchmaking range is 117. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
- The ink consumption of 0.8% and ink tank capacity of 100% allows players to fire 125 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
- This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
- When initially firing the weapon in humanoid form, the first shot takes 3 frames to come out.
- When firing from swim form, the first shot takes 11 frames to come out.
- The interval between firing and when the player is able to enter swim form or use a sub weapon is 3 frames.
- If a shot is in the air for more than 4 frames after being fired, it loses 0.875 damage per frame until it reaches 14 damage at frame 20.
- The bullet hitbox has a radius of 2 units.
- Shots cannot ever deviate from the inner reticle while on the ground.
- Shots cannot ever deviate from the inner reticle while in the air. The outer reticle does not expand after jumping.
- Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 39.2 units per frame for 2 frames. Shots travel straight for 78.4 distance units.
- After that, the shot's velocity is set to 15.815 units per frame if it is not already lower than the listed value, and decreases further as it travels.
- Ink droplets occur every 95 units.
- The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 1.5 droplets per shot.
- There are a total of 6 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
- Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 20.5 units, and a width of 11.5 units.
- These droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1.2 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.4 if they fell from a height below 30 units.
- Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 16.5 units.
- All other ink droplets have a radius of 12.8 units.
- Droplets that are far from the player and all other droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.2 if they fell from a height below 30 units.

Etymology
Neo Splash-o-matic is derived from Splash and Automatic, plus the prefix Neo, Ancient Greek for new. The prefix Neo is also used to differentiate it from the Splash-o-matic. This trait is shared among the other alternate sets of the Neo brand. The -o-matic suffix is also a common, cliché naming convention for technological gadgets.
シャープマーカーネオ shāpu mākā neo references the pen-based appearance of the Neo Splash-o-matic. Like the English name, Neo is also used to differentiate it from Sharp Marker.
