Chargers are one of the five Main Weapon classifications in Splatoon. The charger has a build-up time to a powerful blast that can take enemies out immediately within a long range. It is an ideal weapon for the Inklings on guard, with the option to fire uncharged shots for quicker turf coverage.

Tips
Sniper
*When hovering above an enemy who is inside your firing range, the cross hair will turn into an X.
*You don't always need a fully charged shot to kill enemies.
*If an enemy is closing in or you're ambushed, you're often better off running away. If you're cornered, try shooting partly-charged shots.
*Chargers will show a thin, glowing line when aiming a charged shot. This can alert enemies of your presence.
*Keep your distance. Find a comfortable spot to shoot from, and never join close quarters combat.
*Watch your back and the ground beneath you.

Countering
Chargers are one of the main weapon classes in the Ss.
*Move erratically
*A Charger's weakest spots are behind them and beneath them.

As their name suggests, chargers are capable of building up power to fire high-velocity, high-power straight lines of ink and as such, they fill the archetype of a sniper rifle-style weapon class.

General mechanics
List of Chargers
Chargers are generally mid- to long-range weapons with high ink consumption. They have the ability to charge up their shots in order to increase their range and damage, and the majority of chargers are lethal at full charge. Some chargers are additionally equipped with a scope; this causes the camera to change to a first-person perspective and zoom in when charging, allowing for greater clarity at a distance but with a reduced field of vision.
* Splat Charger series
**Splat Charger – The base Charger in Splatoon.  Comes with Splat Bombs to be used in conjunction with a Bomb Rush.
**Kelp Splat Charger – Has similar stats as the other Chargers in the Splat Charger series, but comes with the Sprinkler and Killer Wail.
**Hero Charger Replica – An amiibo-brand Charger based on the Octo Valley Charger with a Splat Bombs + Bomb Rush combo. It is effectively a re-skin of the standard Splat Charger.

* Splatterscope series
Starting in S2, most chargers received the ability to store a charge, allowing them to hold ZR while swimming to retain a charge for a brief time. Additionally, in Splatoon 2, most chargers received the ability to pierce opponents with fully charged shots.
**Splatterscope – Has slightly better range than the Splat Charger and it comes with a special scope that can be zoomed in. Splat Bombs and Bomb Rush are its secondary and special weapons, respectively.
**Kelp Splatterscope – Part of the Splatterscope series. Same as the Kelp Splat Charger but comes with a scope when focusing.

* Squiffer series
List of chargers
**Classic Squiffer – Has a shorter range, but a faster charge and better mobility, with a Point Sensor for recon and a Bubbler for defense.
<section begin=List of chargers/>
**New Squiffer – Part of the Squiffer series. Has the same stats as the classic, but with Ink Mines and an Inkzooka for a more offensive set.

Special Chargers
* E-literNA/E-LitreAUEU series
The following special charger(s) are only available outside of battles as part of other modes:
**E-liter 3K – Has one of the longest ranges, but slowest charge times, with Burst Bombs and an Echolocator to find and hunt enemies.
**Custom E-liter 3K – The most expensive Charger. Has the same stats as the E-liter 3K, but comes with the Squid Beakon and Kraken for a more versatile play style.
**E-liter 3K Scope – Has a slightly longer range than the regular E-liter 3K, with a scope similar to that of the Splatterscope. Like the E-liter 3K, it comes in a set with Burst Bombs and the Echolocator.

*Bamboozler series
{| class="wikitable sitecolor-generic"
**Bamboozler 14 Mk I – A modernized version of a weapon used in the Great Turf War. It has the fastest charge time, as well as a good range, but is also the only Charger that does not splat Inklings in one hit when fully charged. It comes with the Splash Wall and the Killer Wail.

A promotional image for Splatoon 3 featuring an Octoling wielding the Splat Charger, a weapon in the charger class.
Sniper redirects here. For the Octarian unit, see Octosniper.

Chargers are one of the main weapon classes in the Splatoon series.

As their name suggests, chargers are capable of building up power to fire high-velocity, high-power straight lines of ink and as such, they fill the archetype of a sniper rifle-style weapon class.

General mechanics

Chargers are generally mid- to long-range weapons with high ink consumption. They have the ability to charge up their shots in order to increase their range and damage, and the majority of chargers are lethal at full charge. Some chargers are additionally equipped with a scope; this causes the camera to change to a first-person perspective and zoom in when charging, allowing for greater clarity at a distance but with a reduced field of vision.

Starting in Splatoon 2, most chargers received the ability to store a charge, allowing them to hold while swimming to retain a charge for a brief time. Additionally, in Splatoon 2, most chargers received the ability to pierce opponents with fully charged shots.

List of chargers

Note: The series are arranged by their respective order in the weapon select screen with the Main filter.

Victory:

  • Both genders jump up and down, ending in a pose while aiming their weapon left and right.

Defeat:

  • Inkling Girl: Falls to the ground, dropping her weapon in front of her while wiping her face.
  • Inkling Boy: Jumps twice before holding his head in anger all while holding his weapon until ending in a slouched pose, pointing his weapon at the ground while slapping his hip with his left hand.

In Ammo Knights (Clicking Right Stick):

  • Both genders briefly inspect the weapon, aim it around, then relax their arm and look at the weapon one more time.

Splatoon 2

Spawning in before a match starts:

  • Both Inklings and Octolings raise their weapon towards the sky after shaking off their excess ink.

Victory:

  • Inklings: Thrust their left fist into the air a few times before striking a pose while holding their weapon upward.
  • Octoling Girl: Tosses her weapon into the air and catches it with her left hand and wipes her forehead before striking a pose.
  • Octoling Boy: Similar to the Octoling Girl's, but does a fist pump.

Defeat:

  • Inklings: Rests their head on their weapon in disappointment.
  • Octoling Girl: Drops her weapon while kneeling down before grabbing it again with her right hand and giving off a mad expression.
  • Octoling Boy: Similar to Octoling girl's but with a different direction of the head at the end.

In Ammo Knights (Clicking ):

  • Inklings: Looks at it for a few seconds then, peeks through the scope area.
  • Octolings: Taps the charger a few times then lightly throws it a few times.

Splatoon 3

Spawner pose:

  • All styles: Dangles from the spawner with their left hand while pointing their weapon forward.

Victory:

  • Flip Out: Turns backwards, pumps the weapon into the air once, and holds it pointing upwards while giving a thumbs-up with their left hand, turning to look behind as they do.
  • Reppin' Inkopolis: The player makes a spinning jump, holds their charger in the air, then grabs it with their left hand and begins angling it from side to side while glancing around.

In Ammo Knights (Clicking ):

  • Inklings: The player will look down at their weapon and turn it slightly towards them before crouching down and looking down the sights, swinging the weapon to their left and testing the weight before looking down the sights once more and returning to the idle pose.
  • Octolings: The player will look their weapon over from the side and test the weight, jumping and looking down the sights, then swing the weapon to their left and look it over once more.

Judd's Advice
Meow! (Chargers deal a clawful lot of damage with each shot! But even so... if you only focus on one-shotting foes, you're gonna have a bad time. Try using your first shot to cut off an opponent's path with your ink... and then you can take them out more easily with the second! Inking the ground like this will help your team too, so get shooting!)

Splatoon 3

Squid Research Lab back with a report on "charger" weapons. We've been saving this one for a while and building up power. And that's exactly how these weapons work! Press and hold ZR patiently for a powerful shot that can hit faraway targets.

"Charger" weapons build up power for a super-charged shot that can hit faraway targets. The straight line of ink they leave on the ground can also serve as a speedy pathway into enemy territory!

Trivia

  • There are no chargers with Seeker as their sub weapon.
  • There are no chargers with Booyah Bomb as their special weapon.
  • Players close one eye when aiming with a charger.
    • However, if they are moving while aiming, both of their eyes remain open.
