The Carbon Roller is a main weapon in the Ss.
| cost    = 6,600

| splash  = 25-125
Compared to the basic Splat Roller, the Carbon Roller is the lighter and more mobile roller. It has an incredibly fast flick that still splats opponents in one hit. However, its attack power and range is weaker, and it is unable to crush opponents in one hit.

The main parts of the Carbon Roller are an ink tank and a cylindrical roller frame, both of which change color to match the user's ink. Unlike the other rollers, the frame is attached to both sides of the paint roller. The frame of the roller resembles that of a bicycle, and the ink tank is connected to it by a bike's bottle holder, and the tank itself is designed to look like a sports bottle. The roller frame has red supports on either side connecting it to the ink tank. The supports curve around to make a handle at the end of the tank, looking like a handlebar from a bike, having what resembles a brake lever on the back. The ends of the paint roller are covered with black disks. The roller itself has a series of stripe indents across it, and is coated with the player's ink when their tank isn't empty.

In S3, the Carbon Roller retains its design from the previous games, but its frame now has a yellow-orange and black color scheme.

In S, the ink tank is white with a gray logo, white with a black logo in S2, and the user's ink color and black with a different black logo in S3. In Splatoon and Splatoon 2, there is Inkling text on one half of the black disks on the end of the roller, and arrows around the other half's circumference. In Splatoon 3, there is a different design with a white logo encased in a white dashed circle, which is encased in two arrows around the circumference of the disk, one yellow, one light blue.

The Carbon Roller is a Main Weapon that was released as free DLC on June 27, 2015 at .
The Carbon Roller was released on 2015-06-27 at 2015-06-27 02:00 UTC. It comes with Burst Bombs and Inkzooka.

Description
Each flick consumes 3.5% of the ink tank capacity, allowing players to fling 28 times before needing to refill.
The Carbon Roller is a variant of the Splat Roller. It is lighter version than the Splat Roller, allowing the user to ink turf faster, although its attack power is weakened, and is unable to squish Inklings in one hit.

Tips
clrns
*Though the Carbon Roller is incapable of rolling over people in one hit, Carbon Rollers are instead given an incredibly fast flick. In fact, (not counting steamrolling with an already deployed roller, or a pre-charged charger shot) the Carbon Roller has the fastest 1-hit-KO of any weapon, going through the motion of a single flick in a short 11 frames (a bit less than half a second)!

**Because of this, it is advised to try to attack enemies when they are close by, either by hiding nearby or luring towards you.
Splatoon 2
*Burst Bombs are great for hitting enemies that keep themselves out of your flick range, but can also be used to make combos with the Roller's fast motions (i.e. hitting an enemy with a Burst Bomb, then easily splatting them with their lowered health).
{{Infobox/Weapon
**One such combination (sometimes referred to Burst Canceling) is to throw a Burst Bomb directly at an enemy in close range, then flick the Carbon Roller immediately after.
|game=Splatoon 2
*The Inkzooka can be used to scare away enemies, to hit unwary enemies outside of your range, or to splat far away Chargers. However, be aware that it is a lot harder to attack close range with an Inkzooka, although it is still possible to use Burst Bombs while your Special is active.

The Carbon Roller comes with Autobombs and Ink Storm.

Each flick consumes 4% of the ink tank capacity, allowing players to fling 25 times before needing to refill.

The Carbon Roller is much faster than almost any other Roller in the game, and is very ink-efficient, allowing players to cover large amounts of turf quickly. This is slightly impaired by the fact that it will cover a little bit less surface area than most Rollers, even though it's very quick. It is very useful to cover ground quickly, but is lacking in mid-to long range combat.

It appears in two Octo Expansion Stations:
* B Brute Rollup Station
* D Targetbuster Station

* Since the PAGENAME's flick distance is short, make sure to stay out of range. One can ward off a PAGENAME by placing Suction Bombs or shooting to keep them at bay.
*If getting splatted by the PAGENAME is inevitable, place an Splat Bomb or Ink Mine upon your death in hopes it will in turn splat the PAGENAME, causing a trade.

The Carbon Roller returns in Splatoon 3 with a slightly updated design that is primarily yellow-orange instead of pink. It has kept the Autobombs and now has Zipcaster.

It appears in 3 missions in Alterna:
* 03 They Said We'd Have Flying Cars, and We Do! Kinda!
* 06 Keep It Rolling
* 06 That Sinking Feeling

Badges
*Out of all Main and Sub Weapons, the Carbon Roller has the fastest 1-hit-KO time, going through the motion of a single flick in 11 frames (approximately half a second).
Badge#Weapon freshness
Reaching certain Freshness levels with the Carbon Roller will reward the player with special badges that they can use on their Splashtag.

The Carbon Roller is a main weapon in the Splatoon series.

Compared to the basic Splat Roller, the Carbon Roller is the lighter and more mobile roller. It has an incredibly fast flick that still splats opponents in one hit. However, its attack power and range is weaker, and it is unable to crush opponents in one hit.

Appearance

In Splatoon 3, the Carbon Roller retains its design from the previous games, but its frame now has a yellow-orange and black color scheme.

In Splatoon, the ink tank is white with a gray logo, white with a black logo in Splatoon 2, and the user's ink color and black with a different black logo in Splatoon 3.

The Carbon Roller was released on 27 June 2015 at 02:00 UTC.[1] It comes with Burst Bombs and Inkzooka.

Each flick consumes 3.5% of the ink tank capacity, allowing players to fling 28 times before needing to refill.

Data

  • The Carbon Roller is a middleweight weapon.
  • Ink consumption while rolling is 6% per second.
  • Ink consumption per attack is 3.5%.
    • This allows players to attack 28 times before needing to refill the ink supply.
    • This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
  • The weapon can attack with a depleted ink tank, but the damage of that attack is reduced to 40% of the normal amount.
  • Rolling with a depleted ink tank will not leave a trail or damage opponents.
  • When attacking, it takes 9 frames to lift the roller (0.15 seconds).
  • When rolling, the player's movement speed is set to 1.44 units per frame.
  • When rolling on an uninkable surface or with a depleted ink tank, the player's movement speed is set to 0.96 units per frame.
  • After rolling, there is a 0.33 second cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • After swinging, there is a 0.67 second cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Hitting an opponent while rolling deals 70 damage.
  • Attacks have a base damage of 125.
  • For normal attacks, ink loses damage based on distance traveled. Ink starts losing damage at 45 units and stops losing damage at 80 units. The minimum damage is 25.
  • Ink globs travel straight for 3 frames.
  • Ink flung from the center of the roller does the greatest damage. Ink that flies to the left or right will have lower damage. This low-damage ink starts losing damage after traveling a distance of 71 units and stops losing damage at 80 units. The maximum damage is 50 and the minimum damage is 25.
  • When rolling, the Carbon Roller leaves an ink trail that is 44 units wide.

— In-Game Description(EU/OC)[b]
This lightweight roller excels in the mobility department. Its fling attack doesn't toss a ton of ink, but it's coupled with Burst Bombs for ranged splattage. Throw an Inkzooka in the mix and it's on like Crusty Sean!

Data

  • The Carbon Roller is a lightweight weapon.
  • The matchmaking range is 95. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
  • Ink consumption per second while rolling scales from 1.2% to 6% depending on the rolling speed.
  • When rolling, the player's movement speed is set to 1.28 units per frame.
  • After rolling for 0.5 seconds, the player begins to dash.
  • When dashing, the player's movement speed is set to 1.52 units per frame.
  • After rolling, there is a 0.33 second cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Hitting an opponent while rolling deals 70 damage. Main Power Up increases rolling contact damage up to 80.5.
  • When rolling, the Carbon Roller leaves an ink trail that is 44 units wide.

Horizontal swing (while grounded)

  • The ink consumption of 3.96% allows players to attack 25 times before needing to refill the ink supply.
    • This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
  • When attacking with a nearly depleted ink tank, the ink consumption of that attack is reduced to 1.98%. The damage of that attack is reduced to 25% of the normal amount.
  • When attacking, it takes 10 frames to lift the roller (0.17 seconds).
  • When attacking while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.6 units per frame.
  • After swinging, there is a 0.67 second cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Attacks have a base damage of 100. Main Power Up increases damage up to 115.
  • For normal attacks, ink loses damage based on distance traveled. Ink starts losing damage at 50 units and stops losing damage at 90 units. The minimum damage is 25. Main Power Up increases minimum damage up to 28.75.
  • The lethal range is 50 units, as this is the farthest distance where ink deals 100 damage.
  • In situations where ink falls down, the ink will lose damage as it falls. The minimum damage for falling ink is 12.5.
  • Ink flung from the center of the roller does the greatest damage. Ink that is flung at an angle greater than 12 degrees to the left or right will have lower damage. This low-damage ink starts losing damage after traveling a distance of 35 units and stops losing damage at 75 units. The maximum damage is 100 and the minimum damage is 25. Main Power Up increases maximum damage up to 115 and increases minimum damage up to 28.75.

Vertical swing (while in midair)

  • The ink consumption of 3.96% allows players to attack 25 times before needing to refill the ink supply.
    • This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
  • When attacking with a nearly depleted ink tank, the ink consumption of that attack is reduced to 1.98%. The damage of that attack is reduced to 50% of the normal amount.
  • When attacking, it takes 12 frames to lift the roller (0.2 seconds).
  • When attacking while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.48 units per frame.
  • After swinging, there is a 0.75 second cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Attacks have a base damage of 120. Main Power Up increases damage up to 138.
  • For normal attacks, ink loses damage based on distance traveled. Ink starts losing damage at 50 units and stops losing damage at 150 units. The minimum damage is 35. Main Power Up increases minimum damage up to 40.25.
  • In situations where ink falls down, the ink will lose damage as it falls. The minimum damage for falling ink is 17.5.
  • Damage does not change based on the angle of the ink.

Sheldon's Introduction

The Carbon Roller is a lightweight roller built using low-density parts for increased handling! You can't fling a whole lot of ink with this one, so use an Autobomb to check if the area's safe before you ink ahead! A well-placed Ink Storm over an enemy's hiding place will send them running. Little do they know that you're waiting to splat them!

Sheldon's Introduction

The Carbon Roller is a lightweight roller built using low-density parts for increased handling! Of course, lightweight leads to light inking capability, but if you can find an opponent with an Autobomb and then sneak behind them, it'll get the job done. Rounding out this zippy little loadout is the Zipcaster, which can also help you surprise and undelight your opponents. Basically, if you want to be a ninja, try out this set!
