The Floating Sponge Garden is the fifth mission available in single player Hero Mode.
Octo Valley
After the player clears Boss 1 Squish, Squash, Smash... The Mighty Octostomp!, they gain access to Zone 2 via an Inkrail.

Amiibo
There are 2 other versions of this level that can only be played through their respective Amiibo. Each Amiibo uses a different weapon for the stage. The Inkling Girl challenges revolve around a Splat Charger and the Inkling Squid uses the same Hero Shot from the normal campaign, except in this stage there is a limit on how much ink you have.
