Our initial reports indicate that Grizzco Industries have been fishing for more employees, so to speak. As such, they are offering deep incentives for Inklings who know their way around a battlefield.

The object of any Salmon Run is to cooperate with your friends—I suppose they're coworkers at this point—to splat the swarming Salmonids, belay the Boss Salmonids, and deliver precious Golden Eggs to Grizzco Industries.

But we're seeing a variety of new perks for Salmon Run employees. First, new hires are being ferried to job sites in a helicopter! We were unable to probe any of Grizzco's financial documents, but it doesn't take a scientist to determine that helicopters cost money.

Further proof that Grizzco is thriving: the firm has upgraded its gear. Do you know how much ink-resistant suits cost? (This researcher does not—please let me know if you find a bargain.) In any case, these Inklings look ready to take on a Salmonid wave of industrial proportions!

Another new feature of note: a tactical throwing of Golden Eggs, scientifically known as the "Egg Throw." Inklings can now pass Golden Eggs to allies or deposit them from afar. This consumes a portion of ink but greatly increases efficiency!

In terms of on-site research, we were able to uncover a new job site known as Sockeye Station. This is an advanced base for Salmonids, featuring a tall, spiraling tower, and it presents new tactical opportunities for both allies and antagonists.

On to Salmonid research… We have proudly classified an entirely new Boss Salmonid known as a "Fish Stick." As the name implies, flying Salmonids have been observed planting a large "stick" to gain a tactical advantage. Could it be exploited somehow? Our research continues.

Another new creature, known as a "Flipper-Flopper," has been observed creating a ring of ink before diving magnificently into said ring. While beautiful, this is a dangerous attack! Inklings will need to cooperate to prevent Flipper-Floppers from flipping and/or flopping.

While we've spent a great deal of time observing these terrifying new specimens, we must note that all Boss Salmonids from Splatoon 2 can also be observed invading the Splatlands. Inklings with prior experience from Splatoon 2 may be able to draw on this knowledge to defeat them.

Last but certainly not least, Squid Research Lab is excited and more than a little scared to reveal the existence of a King Salmonid. This unfathomably terrifying creature can be scientifically described as "ginormous." We hope to release more details soon.

We hope you've enjoyed our initial findings! We will continue to gather data and share more from the fascinating world of Splatoon 3, right up until the game's release in summer of 2022. And beyond, if our grant comes through.
