Link formatting

Hey Stink-182, it's come to my attention some of the links you've added to files within the Delete template aren't formatted correctly (example); please use double angled brackets containing the page's name to link things (eg. [[Link]]), rather than pasting whole URLs, to link to things around this wiki. This formatting is more efficient, looks much neater, and allows the possibility of customizing a link's display text; please refer to the related help page section for more information.

Additionally, please work towards correcting file usage links before adding the Delete template to files in need of deletion; please ensure that the files you're requesting to be deleted are not in use anywhere on the wiki, as the files' links will break upon the deletion being performed, leaving cleanup work for others. This file is in use on two pages as listed on the bottom of the page, so please tidy that up via replacing the old file links with the new one. Interwiki link formatting

Another tip for link formatting: when linking to NIWA wikis, or Wikipedia, it is considered more professional to use interwiki link formatting instead of external link formatting, because if the URL format is changed, or if we decide to style those links a certain way, all links will automatically be updated, but only if using the proper interwiki formatting.

You added an external link [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangaea Pangaea] to File:Alterna Logo Pangaea.png. You can correct it by changing the Wikipedia link to [[wikipedia:Pangaea|Pangaea]]. For practice, please correct the file page File:Alterna Logo Pangaea.png, and any other pages you remember that could be improved by using interwiki link formatting.

A list of supported wikis and their interwiki prefix can be found at Special:Interwiki. As you may notice, Wikipedia could use [[wikipedia:PageName|PageName]] or [[wp:PageName|PageName]]. Please use interwiki link formatting going forward for any NIWA wiki or other supported wiki. Please let me know if you need any help with this type of linking! Summaries

Deletion requestions

Heya—please don't add delete tags to files (like File:Tenta Missiles.jpg) unless you go through and correct all the links/uses of that file and verifying with WhatLinksHere on the sidebar that it is fully unused. Thanks! Trig - 17:10, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
