Bankalive Gou Page

Should Bankalive Gou have it's own page? I've already started a draft version, but if not I can delete the draft.

It will definitely eventually need a page (once the concert happens and we can include details transcripts/setlists/etc.), but I'm not sure it needs a separate page yet since as far as I'm aware most of the information that's currently known is already listed on this page. But if you have a draft version in the works, no need to delete it, since that could definitely be useful once a page is made. Lyichir (talk) 16:00, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

Question about the translation of 'Bankalive Gou'

I know it's probably a bit early to ask this, as Nintendo of America/UK hasn't prepared their YouTube video for the concert livestream yet, but I wanted to confirm something about how the concert title is referred to as. Looking at several sources, including the JP promo image for the concert and the store page for the concert shirt, the title for the concert seems to be referred to as just バンカライブ 轟, or 'Bankalive Todoroki', while other sources, like the JP Twitter account, Nintendo Live site, and pre-livestream page for the concert on Youtube refer to it as バンカライブ 轟(ゴウ) or 'Bankalive Todoroki (Gou)'. From what I can gleam, a general translation of both of these seems to be 'Bankalive Roar', though looking up the meaning of the kanji is difficult as both titles are also names of popular anime characters. Google Translate also seems to just completely drop the Todoroki part and just give the result Bankalive Gou, which might be how the English community started to refer to it as such...

I don't know Japanese, so I wanted to confirm specifically how the concert should be referred to as in romaji, since Gou doesn't seem completely correct. T-Patch (talk) 08:38, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

The official reading for "轟" in "バンカライブ 轟" is "ゴウ" (gou) as written in parentheses in some official news sources. That is the one and only reading we shall use. We don't need to consider any other possible readings for the kanji that may be listed in any dictionaries (including todoro, todoroku, todoroki, etc.); they don't matter for us. Also, please do not blindly trust any machine translations.

In any case, I would propose we wait for the official English title to save ourselves from the trouble of renaming things. Harimaron (talk) 09:46, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
