Behavior when Spawned

Throughout my times with Salmon Run, I've seen in Maws spawned in, and it spawned near me, but it didn't attack me and went after a random player. Would this sound noteworthy? AsrielTheInkling (talk) 17:11, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

Maws is not a Salmonoid

Maws is actually a giant eel. This could be confirmed because her mem-cake description in the octo expansion refers to her as a giant eel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scuba (talk • contribs)

• I would not take it at face value because it is just a poetic device, poems dreamed up by Agent 8 who may or may not have even seen a real Maws. Erupting Eel could be just alliteration. Nothing like that is mentioned in the Japanese version. Besides, its in-game model is just half a fish... A noteworthy piece of trivia though. We can mention the mem-cake, but whether it is actually an eel should be up for debate. I still think it is a type of salmon. It is definitely a Boss Salmonid nevertheless. Maw-Ray?

I was just playing Super Mario Odyssey and I realized that the Maw-Rays (they also appear in other Mario games) look extremely similar to the Maws, and they have a similar name. Should this go under trivia? 𝕎𝕠𝕠𝕞𝕪𝔾𝕚𝕣𝕝𝟠𝟝 (talk) 15:10, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Flipper-Flopper

Currently the trivia section notes how Maws is the only salmonid capable of swimming in ink, but flipper-floppers dive could be considered similar enough to "swimming" to be noted. is this worth adding or should this point remain as-is? KelpTheSquidkid (talk) 16:41, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

If nothing else, it absolutely needs to change now that Megalodontia exists, since its swimming is effectively near-identical to Maws. Putting the Flipper-Flopper on top of that, I'm more tempted to say the trivia point should just be removed entirely, as its notability has been deprecated significantly. Other ways to splat a submerged Maws

I remember seeing that a Sting Ray could splat a submerged Maws, though it is inefficient to do so. Would that be noteworthy? Moon (talk) 04:23, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
