I usually only play during Splatfests and Big Runs, but if there isn't a big event going on, then I sometimes play Salmon Run or Ranked/Anarchy/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. Most of the time, though, I only play singleplayer when I'm bored of doing everything else.

I used to play exclusively Turf War, but it became boring (and I kept losing because my strategy is NOT suited for Turf) so I started playing Ranked/Anarchy, and now I do mainly that. For seven whole years of playing this series, I didn't touch Ranked at all. That was a huge mistake. Turf War sucks.

# Shiver is definitely in it for Frye, and the number of other people in the Splatoon fanbase that ships them is criminally low. What I also find funny is that there's dialogue in the game that kind of conveys this, though it's probably not intentional. If it is, though, godspeed to the dialogue writers and also to the localization team

this is what I look like in real life

I'm ProfessorOfK3ology, also known as K3ology or just Katherine. I've had an account on this wiki for ages, but the only meaningful contribution I've made on here is adding the Japanese text of the Wet Floor interview. I think I did that on my old account, though. Whoops.

Most of the editing I do on here is late at night in groups of small edits because I'm too tired to think before I act (though I don't usually do that at all). Generally the edit notes I make are sort of offensive. I have a love-hate relationship with the Splatoon fanbase, so my bar for what I expect from it isn't very high, and yet I refuse to acknowledge that and let people be because I'm a jerk.

But I swear on God that I'm not drunk when I make edits lmao (though that does sound kind of fun... hm)

Other than Inkipedia, you can find me on YouTube, and that's pretty much the only public online presence I have.

My Non-Place in the Fandom

I've been shipping Ikkan and Namida since 2016, and so far I am the only person in the entire fandom I've seen that does. I'm getting lonely.

I also really, really don't like Marina. She gives me really rancid vibes.

Also Shiver x Frye gang wya... hello? Anyone?

m not very active in the Splatoon fanbase in terms of like, forming healthy relationships, so here's some of the headcanons/conclusions I've drawn over the past four years of keeping to myself, those of which I feel are more interesting conversation points

  1. Shiver is definitely in it for Frye, and the number of other people in the Splatoon fanbase that ships them is criminally low. What I also find funny is that there's dialogue in the game that kind of conveys this, though it's probably not intentional. If it is, though, godspeed to the dialogue writers and also to the localization team
  2. The supposed age gap between Warabi and Ikkan is large enough to make a romantic relationship between them weird. I've always imagined it as more of a father/son kind of thing; Ikkan and his *****y adult son that he didn't want.
  3. This has a big chance of being disconfirmed (or perhaps it already has idk) but I strongly believe that Pearlina would be one-sided given their personalities. Marina likes Pearl, yeah, but would Pearl like Marina back? I feel like Pearl would be either oblivious to it, or that she would know and just not be interested in that kind of thing with her.
    • A lot of that previous point is also just me projecting being aroace onto Pearl. Considering that, I really don't like Marina because she seems way too clingy and obsessive when it comes to her interactions with other characters. She just doesn't vibe with me lol
      • I guess what I'm trying to say is that while I find Pearlina perfectly valid to ship if you're into it, it's not for me.
  4. Frye is de facto the smartest member of Deep Cut, if not only because Shiver and Big Man are wayyy stupid (talking about Shiver in particular). Frye is certainly better at analytical thinking than Shiver is, and this has been shown multiple times in actual in-game dialogue.
  5. The absolute worst time to play Salmon Run is during the early afternoon in whatever region you're in. That's when the young'uns get off from school, and you're liable to be playing with a lot of kids who blazed through the employee manual and just don't know how to play. The amount of teammates I've seen trying to shoot down the Flyfish with their main is astounding.
    • This actually applies to most gamemodes. RIP my win/loss ratio :(
  6. The medals you get at the end of a battle are 100% the best addition to Splatoon 3. Whenever I'm on a losing streak, I can have peace of mind knowing that I was the one carrying my team and not the other way around.

Calculators

I am also passionate about collecting calculators. Even more passionate than I am about playing Splatoon! I made a spreadsheet listing the ones I have.

Image of the collection as of March 2023.

And this is my wishlist:

  • Any sort of graphing calculator (looking at the TI-83 plus, it's pretty cheap on eBay)
  • There's a really funny one I saw with a rude-sounding brand name that I only want because I'm mentally 12 years old I guess
  • idk, if anyone reads this and has a recommendation please tell me if you find me on another website because Inkipedia ain't the place
