| Turf, <small>(as a verb, turfing)</small> is an important aspect in [[Splatoon]]'s [[Turf War]] mode. In order to turf, the player must have [[Ink]] (Keep in mind that by default, ink is at it's maximum until the player starts turfing). Turf has several colors, including:

| Ink is a required item for turfing. In order to earn Ink, one must turn into a Squid and suck the ink, then turn into an Inkling again. Keep in mind that Ink is available from the beginning of the level on it's maximum, and can be obtained easily.
