Infoboxes

Hi! I've noticed you adding infoboxes to some Fresh Season 2024 gear pages, which is much appreciated. However, the way you've positioned and formatted those infoboxes is inconsistent with other pages so I wanted to offer some tips.

For starters, while infoboxes go at the top of the page, you don't actually have to position them there in your edit. The "infobox gobbler" template at the top of the page automatically takes infoboxes from anywhere on the page and positions them correctly. Because of this, it's best to place the infobox template itself under the heading for the game in question (in this case, Splatoon 3).

Also, the way you've been adding infoboxes without line breaks makes them hard to parse and edit in the future. I'd recommend looking at how the Splatoon 2 infoboxes are typically laid out in the source editor, with each entry field on a separate line for ease of readability. For many of these returning gear pages, you can even copy and paste the entire Splatoon 2 section and edit each field to match the updated Splatoon 3 info instead of building the infobox from scratch (just make sure to edit the parts that have changed, like changing Splatoon 2 to Splatoon 3, Splatnet 2 to Splatnet 3, update the star count, make sure the ability is correct in cases where it changed between games, and edit the season and version when it was introduced).

I hope these tips not only make your edits better but also easier for you as well! Lyichir (talk) 15:14, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello, I am sorry for the inconsistencies and errors, I am simply a new user trying to find my way around this website. I will try to do better in the future, but the change might take a while.
Hope you understand! GreenTanuki (talk) 16:52, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Improperly Banned

I need help, I have been incorrectly banned from Inkipedia because somebody from the same area as me who has vandalized a specific website on Inkipedia, so I have also been banned, could you please ask an admin to get get me unbanned for I cannot message thanks to this annoying user. P.S can you please get Cyan unbaned too, she is innocent too GreenTanuki (talk) 19:53, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Sorry to hear this has happened. Who is Cyan? We have User:Cyan but they have not edited in an extended period of time. Can you identify the user you think (or know) got you banned from Inkipedia? Trig - 20:34, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
it is the very user known as Cyan GreenTanuki (talk) 21:37, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
oh and, the person who got banned, which in turn got me banned, was Jesus, the guy on the Cuttlefish page GreenTanuki (talk) 21:39, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The way the ban is configured, it has only blocked attempted edits from identical IPs (which is your scenario) for a period of 24 hours after I have banned User:Jesus. In order to maintain the integrity of the ban, please wait out this duration. If you still cannot edit after that 24 hour period is up, please inform me. For full transparency, I take some issue with the specific naming of a user that has not necessarily contributed to the site in nearly a year's time—as well as the fact that your IP between Jesus and yourself matched. If it is the case of a shared location, such as a school, restaurant, library, or home, please be aware that further vandalism offenses by others may be equally placed on you with less generosity as has been done here: offenses can quickly seem like violations of the multiple accounts policy, and real editors creating vandalism intended accounts has happened prior. thank you! I can do edits now! (: GreenTanuki (talk) 15:58, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
