The anime was announced by [[Sankichi Hinodeya]], the creator of the [[Splatoon (manga)~~\|''Splatoon'' manga~~]], on his Twitter account. Not a lot is known about the anime, execpt it will have the same characters as the manga. It is unknown if the anime will follow the manga or be a spin-off anime to the manga.
