Squad Battle is an upcoming mode for Splatoon, to be released on August 6. Squad Battle allows groups of two to four friends to participate together in Ranked Battles. A squad will always battle together on the same team.
Squad Battle has three modes:
- Quad Squad: Two or four teams of four or two players in a 4v4 battle,
- Tri Squad: Two teams of three players in a 3v3 battle.
- Twin Squad: Four teams of two players in a 4v4 battle.
