When a player tags an opponent with their main weapon, and has this ability, but does not splat the enemy, then the enemy can be seen by that player, even if the enemy is behind a wall.

Use

When a player with Thermal Ink tags an opponent with their main weapon, then the enemy can be seen by that player, even if the enemy is behind a wall. Tagged enemies that go into squid form will not be visible.
