The CQ-80 is an essential tool for exploring the underground test facility. When aboard a Deepsea Metro subway train, you can use the CQ-80 to view the subway map. Choose a station on the map, and the train will take you there.

You can finally cross this off your bucket list: research indicates that the Tri-Slosher Nouveau will be available tonight. This weapon has the same stats as the Tri-Slosher, but comes with an exclusive sticker (and looks rather smashing if I do say so myself). This kit also comes with Splat Bombs and the Ink Storm special…two ways to make your opponents scatter. It's a great kit for those who love being a team player.

We have an aquatic announcement from our overseas colleagues who are partnering with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC for short). JAMSTEC is a scientific research institute dedicated to an integrated understanding of the Oceans, the Earth, and Life, all while contributing to the advancement of academic research.
That means JAMSTEC and the Splatoon 2 game are both anchored around the key themes of the ocean and the deep sea.
In fact, the gear you can get in Salmon Run this month is the Oceanic Hard Hat, an in-game replica helmet like the one JAMSTEC staff and scientists wear every day, offering protection for their hard work offshore.
Another fun fact is that the Autobomb sub-weapon in the Splatoon 2 game took some design inspiration from a JAMSTEC research vehicle called SHINKAI 6500. Completed in 1990, SHINKAI 6500 is a manned submersible that can dive to depths of 6,500 meters.
In the upcoming Octo Expansion DLC, SHINKAI 6500 will even make an appearance, as mysteries still remain in the deep-sea world of Inklings.
You may have also noticed that a scientific drilling vessel appeared near the battle stage Manta Maria. This real-life vessel, named CHIKYU, meaning "The Earth" in Japanese, can drill in water as deep as three Mt. Fujis combined, and it continues to close in on mysteries deep inside the Earth as part of the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP).

Research indicates that the Custom Range Blaster will soon be available at Ammo Knights. Through careful deductive processes, we can gleam that this is a "Custom" version of the "Range Blaster." Hah, science is truly wondrous! This new weapon has the same stats as the Range Blaster, but also comes with Curling Bombs and the Bubble Blower: two great ways to pin down the enemy. This kit is perfect for players who want to lock down the battlefield.

The Squid Research Lab has been working around the clock to bring you the latest information on the big Version 3.0 update, and we're happy to announce it will be available tonight at 6pm PT!
This is a whale of an update and features a bunch of fresh new features and gear!
First and foremost, the super competitive X Rank arrives. S+10 ranked players will now be registered as X Rank, and will battle for X Power level. Even better, the top 500 players each month will be listed on the SplatNet 2 app! Think you've got what it takes?
Secondly, prepare for over 100 new and returning pieces of gear to keep your style fresh. Why not try a new style for Spring?
In addition, prepare to be star-struck as the Squid Sisters reunite! Version 3.0 will see Callie rejoin Marie in Tentakeel Outpost once an in-game event has occurred, and she'll also keep track of various multiplayer stats!
Phew! We hope this research has been helpful, but now we're off to go do some push-ups (okay, push-up) to prepare for X Rank while listening to the bumping new chiptunes from Chirpy Chips!

With all the discussion around Version 3.0, we forgot to mention that Camp Triggerfish is also making a big return tonight! This wooden fort is situated in the middle of a lake: the perfect place for splatting in the great outdoors. Prepare for fresh air, team building memories, and (hopefully not) falling in the water…
There are also FOUR more weapons arriving tonight. Moving forward, a batch of several weapons will be added once a month instead of the ol' "once a week" schedule that was happening. Ammo Knights will soon be stocked with:
-Neo Splash-o-matic w/ Burst Bombs & Suction-Bomb Launcher

A special tournament-style Splatfest is coming to Splatoon 2! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are rising up to take the stage, and it's up to you to vote and battle for your favorite Turtle! Will you root for Raph? Lay down some ink for Leo? Make some noise for Mikey? Or dominate for Donnie?
The first of three Splatfest tournaments will pit Raph against Leo on 5/4-5/5, with the second on 5/11-5/12, featuring Mikey vs. Donnie, and the final match between the winners takes place on 5/18-5/19. Which brother will be crowned the most bodacious?
The first round of the @tmnt Splatfest features Raph vs. Leo and oozes into action 5/4 at 9pm PT!
