Greetings! Squid Research Lab here with intriguing new information on the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion!
We just received video footage showing an Octoling attempting extended Inkjet travel! Seems dangerous! We're still a little curious about all that stuff floating in the background though. What's that purple thing, some sort of primitive cell phone? Looks like the research must continue!

These are the passengers of Deepsea Metro, collectively known as the "denizens of the deep." They look a bit strange, which we believe is a result of having adapted to survive in the extreme depths of their unique environment.
They don't seem interested in Agent 8 or Cap'n Cuttlefish, as they don't respond at all when talked to. We're not sure what to make of this…

The protagonist of Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion is a young Octarian Octoling. Octarians seem to have a more serious nature than the carefree Inklings we're accustomed to. We've also heard that they're naturally good with their hands and adept at using tools and machinery.

These are mem cakes. You can obtain these by passing the various tests within the underground facility. From what we can determine, these cakes are formed by compressing one's memories into physical form. If you're able to collect some of these, show them to Iso Padre. He'll be quite delighted!

The Splatoon 2 World Championship comes to Los Angeles next month, and we're excited to present the participating teams!
From Europe, BackSquids, from Japan, GG BoyZ, from North America, SetToDestroyX, and representing Australia/NZ, Yeah Nah. Can SetToDestroyX defend the title for U.S./Canada? Or will a new challenger take the crown? Popular names from the 2017 World Inkling Invitational such as Dynamon and Latias are also returning to the fold with their new respective Japan and AU/NZ teams.
The splattle begins June 11th with the semifinals at 3:30pm PDT, and the finals take place June 12th at 1:00pm PDT. Be sure to stay tuned as the Super Smash Bros Invitational 2018 will kick off following the Championship on the 12th.
