Super Sea Snails (Japanese: スーパーサザエ Super Sazae) are a species and also type of currency in Splatoon. They can only be obtained by participating in Splatfests. Currently, their sole use is to be given to Spyke, who uses them to increase the number of slots on gear or reroll all gear abilities on a select piece of gear. Spyke can also do this without a Sea Snail, but the player must be level 20 or higher, and it costs Cash.

Trivia
- The Super Sea Snails slightly resemble a rock mushroom from Super Mario Galaxy 2.
- The gear slot properties of Super Sea Snails seem to lie more in their actual shells than the snails themselves, which according to Spyke are "juicy". This implies the snails are irrelevant to the process, but can be consumed by certain species like urchins.
- Super Sea Snails seem to be capable of fear: when looking at the ones owned by Spyke, it is possible to see them shake as if certain of their fate of being consumed by Spyke.
