Gendered variants

In English, when recieving a title with gendered variants, you will recieve both versions and a duplicate of the corresponding Adjective Part. The duplicate seems to have no effect.

Can someone confirm whether this happens in non-English languages, particularly ones with grammatical genders? Just a silly little goose ^.^ (talk | contribs) 01:19, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If I understood the question correctly, this is what happens in Russian:
  • When you receive a title, you get a picture of the same title in one to two genders depending on the Subject Part. By picture I mean how it looks on the receiving screen.
    Examples:
    1) When you receive "10-tentacled Actor", you get a picture of "десятищупый актёр" (male variant) and "десятищупая актриса" (female variant)
    2) When you receive "10-tentacled .52 Gal User", you get a picture of "десятищупый боец со струевиком .52" (always male)
    3) When you receive "10-tentacled Egg", you get a picture "десятищупое яйцо" (always neuter)
  • When you choose a title, you always have one Adjective Part (the gender depends on the current Subject Part) and several of the same Subject Parts of different genders, if there's any. The Adjective Part will change it's gender automatically to match the Subject Part.
For example, you'll have "10-tentacled" as "десятищупый" (male) on the selection screen if your current Subject Part is male, but when you change the Subject Part between "актёр" (male Actor) and "актриса" (female Actor), "10-tentacled" will either stay as "десятищупый" (male) or automatically change to "десятищупая" (female). Same with neuter gendered words, it'll change to "десятищупое" (neuter). Milchik (talk) 04:59, 23 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you. This answers my question perfectly. This behaviour occurs in English as well for titles that have gendered variants, but as adjectives have no grammatical gender, there is no discernible difference. A small problem

When I go to display the list of titles it doesn’t work. I have clicked the arrow and nothing is displayed. This problem has been happening to me quite a bit, I haven’t even gotten to the list at all. I have tried waiting for a bit to see if this was fixed but it still isn’t working. If there is a way to fix this I would be super happy!! :) Thank you, and have a good day!! Arrows on the columns sort, try the [Expand] button instead! If that doesn't work then please say what browser, device, and skin you're using :) Slate Talk Contribs 22:04, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you!! I didn’t see the [Expand] at first but I scrolled to the side and found it!! :) S3 art 3D Inkling splat.pngOddlildude (chat)S3 Inkling E-liter Scope Render.png 22:06, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There’s no expand button on my browser. Wind Waker (talk) 11:40, 17 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Translations

I saw that translations are needed. I can do Japanese, but because my level is kind of lower, I can just do romanji. My issue is that I don't know how to edit pages and I don't want to mess up the formatting. Can I get some help with it? I feel like helping out would be fun. I made an account so I can help out with translations. Fuzzygreen5 (talk) 04:46, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Difficulty attempting to expand page

I feel that, when I attempt to expand the list, my web browser just freezes. I would like to look at the page but it currently feels difficult to do so under such circumstances. I hope that there is a possible fix for this issue! :D LeEbicr9 (talk) 12:34, 22 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I attempted dividing the tables into 4 separate tables each based on their alphabetic order but it seemed to do little to alleviate the strain on the hardware when viewing the page. If anyone else has any other ideas I encourage you to try :) An orange (talk) 13:52, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Is there any way the tables can be put in "load this now" divs the way Media is?

Considering the size of the page, people who are still browsing Inkipedia from their 3DS might not want them to load right away. Just a silly little goose ^.^ (talk | contribs) 09:25, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Grouping titles

I think we should have a column in the tables for which group a title is in (Main/Sub/Special weapon user, Group superfan, Brand model etc.), so you can sort by that to make it easier to find the titles you actually want to see.

For that matter, how do you edit tables? They don't seem to show up directly when editing the page.

Also with people having trouble expanding the huge "subject part" and "adjective part" tables on their browsers, I wonder if it wouldn't be better to split them into smaller, separate tables for each group. Silverbrick (talk) 21:30, 7 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

•We could implement that, but there is still an overwhelming majority of non-categorizable tags (especially the adjectives).
•You have to edit the table that it references. The code references "title/adjectives" and "title/subject"
•I experimented with separating each table into 4 separate tables organized by alphabetic order and that didn't seem to elevate the strain on the hardware when viewing the page, so I don't think separating tables by your suggestion would alleviate this issue.
