Vibe

Vibe is a feature that indicates the winning streaks of participants in online battles. In the lobby of the tower and when waiting for a match to begin, the Vibe Meter can be seen. On the Vibe Meter is a title and a number of flags. Every time the player's team wins, one flag is added to the Vibe Meter and, conversely, every time they lose, a number of flags (dependent upon the current meter level) are deducted.

If the player leaves the game mode and speaks to Judd in Inkopolis Plaza, he will reward them with cash based on their vibe. He will, however, only do this once per Stage cycle, and when the stages change, the player's vibe resets to 0, meaning they will lose their chance to reap the reward.

Ranks

The following table lists the Vibe levels, flag penalties, and payouts:

Players can only claim each rank's bonus one time per stage rotation, and when they claim one, all of the previous ranks' unclaimed bonuses are added to the reward. For example, consider the following scenarios:

• Map selection changed.
• Scenario 1:
  • Player reaches 3 flags and talks to Judd.
  • Player receives File:100 Icon Cash.png 20px.
  • Player continues fighting, reaches 4 flags, and talks to Judd.
  • Player receives File:300 Icon Cash.png 20px.
• Scenario 2:
  • Player reaches 4 flags and talks to Judd.
  • Player receives File:400 Icon Cash.png 20px.
  • Player loses a match, and is now down to 3 flags. They talk to Judd.
  • Judd doesn't give any money, just advice.

These rules are also true for Splatfest, and because the stages never rotate there, this means the flags and rewards are kept until the event is over.

In light of this, the best strategy to profit out of this mechanic is to quit and talk to Judd as soon as 1 flag is obtained, continue fighting, talk to Judd as soon as 3.5 or 4 flags are reached, continue playing, and then quitting and talking once more as soon 6.5 or 7 flags are reached.
