Competitive talk:Save Scumming

From Inkipedia, the Splatoon wiki

Deletion

Save scumming to re-roll gear is a form of cheating. While not illegal, it's in no way related to Splatoon's competitive scene, nor would it fit in mainspace; as it is, this page serves as instructions on how to perform a cheat in the game. While this isn't explicitly against policy, I don't think a how-to guide for a discouraged practice involving manipulating save data is notable nor encyclopedic. This page should be deleted.

Furthermore, this page's existence is being cited as precedent for keeping the much more dubious Gear editing page up; as these topics involve cheating, I fail to see why either of them deserve entire pages. If considered notable enough the information should be moved to more appropriate pages, without instructions and name-dropping of the exact illicit programs players may use to cheat. I'm in favor of combining all cheating articles into one article named "cheating" or similar. I think instructions should be removed because that will make the article more encyclopedic (encyclopedias are supposed to summarize, not going into too much detail). I think examples (like SplatHeX) should be kept because Nintendo's terms of service do not restrict what we write about. Heddy (talk) 22:48, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Fair points. I'll get to working on a draft version of general page encompassing both articles' topics within a few days. Will present when ready. Yoshifan52 (talk) 23:09, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
