Bots are automated tools that can change Inkipedia through its API.
Permissions
Main article: User group rights
Bots have permissions of Autoconfirmed users, and:
- Write access to the wiki API
- Autopatrolled edits
- Allow redirect suppression on move
- Edits are marked as 'bot' and do not show in Special:RecentChanges by default
- Not have minor edits to discussion pages trigger the new messages prompt
- Higher rate limits in queries
Applying for a bot
Please reach out directly to a bureaucrat. Be prepared to answer:
- How has the bot been tested?
- How much can the bot change?
- What problem does the bot solve/its usefulness?
- Does the bot run continuously or by invocation?
- Does the bot perform tasks for which there is consensus?
- Does the bot follow Inkipedia policy?
- What are the bot's edit summaries or messages to users?

If you no longer require the bot, please reach out directly to a bureaucrat.
