Dutch quotes

Lorelei's Dialogue Mariana's Dialogue Region
Lorelei
“Heb je al eens eerder in een supermarkt gehangen na sluitingstijd? Best stoer!”

(Have you ever hanged out in a supermarket after closing time before? Quite tough!)
Mariana
“Echt wel! Eerst langs de koekjes, en dan ga ik met de stereoapparatuur spelen!”

(I know! First past the cookies, and then I go play with the stereo equipment!)
NOE[note 1]
Lorelei
“Je mag tijdens het vechten alle spullen bekijken, maar laat ze in de rekken!”

(You may view all items while battling, but leave them in the shelves!)
Mariana
“Ja, we zijn hier om te knokken, niet om boodschappen te doen!”

(Yes, we are here to fight, not to do groceries!)
NOE
Lorelei
“Is dit ook de winkel waar jullie bedienden de boodschappen deden?”

(Is this also the store where your servants did the groceries?)
Mariana
“...Bedien... Wat?”

(...Servan... What?)
NOE
Lorelei
“O, ze hebben hier mijn favoriete smoothies: Zoethies! Lekker én gezond!”

(Oh, they have my favorite smoothies here: Sweethies! Tasty AND healthy!)
Mariana
“Heb je al 's naar de ingrediënten gekeken? Er zit alleen maar suiker in...”

(Have you ever looked at the ingredients? It only contains sugar...)
NOE
Notes: "Zoethies" comes from "smoothies" and "zoet" (sweet), and "én" (and) is stressed and therefore written with an accent.
Lorelei
“Ze hebben hier zoooo veeeel snoooeeep! Ik kan niet kiezen! HELP!”

(They have soooo muuuuch caaaaaandy here! I cannot choose! HELP!)
Mariana
“Lorelei, rustig ademhalen! We zijn nog in de uitzending! Mensen zien dit!”

(Pearl, breathe calmly! We are still broadcasting! People see this!)
NOE
Lorelei
“Ik baal ervan dat ik altijd in de rij moet staan om te betalen...”

(I am fed up that I always have to wait in line to pay...)
Mariana
“Eh... Tijdens een gevecht? Is dat waarom ze altijd met jou afrekenen?”

(Uh... During a battle? Is that why they always deal with you?)
NOE
Notes: "Afrekenen" is a pun on its meanings 'to pay', 'to settle' and 'to kill'.
Lorelei
“Het is best naar in de Bultrugbazaar, het ruikt er raar en 't fruit heeft haar!”

(It is quite nasty at the MakoMart, it smells weird there and the fruit has hair!)
Mariana
“Die sponsordeal kunnen we wel vergeten...”

(We can forget about that sponsorship deal...)
NOE
Lorelei
“Dit level is perfect voor Dubbelknallers! Of de Knalblaster! Of Heldenknallers!”

(This level is perfect for dualies! Or the Clash Blaster! Or Hero Dualies!)
Mariana
“Misschien heb je die jingle over knalprijzen iets te vaak gehoord...”

(Maybe you have heard that jingle about bargain prices somewhat too often...)
NOE
Notes: Using "-knaller" as a suffix and "knal-" as a prefix gives it the meaning "sale". This is often used in Dutch supermarket commercials. For example: "Euroknaller" is a product for a special price of 1 or 2 Euros.
Lorelei
“"Kijk, Lorelei! De draadloze springtouwen zijn in de aanbieding! Ik wil ze allemaal!"”

("Look, Pearl! The cordless jump ropes are on sale! I want them all!")

MakoMart, the most popular superstore in Inkopolis, is now a battle stage! Since they sell many products in bulk, Inklings often buy groceries with their teammates and split things up among themselves later.

MakoMart opens its doors the evening of Black Friday, November 24th. We wouldn't be surprised if a few Inklings start lining up outside with Tenta Brellas in anticipation of killer deals.

MakoMart is known for having everything you could want, and its footprint is about on par with that of an amusement park. It sells everything in huge quantities, so a lot of customers share what they buy.

This suburban supermarket is so massive that it boasts the largest sales floor in the region. It originally focused on selling food, but in recent years it started stocking all sorts of everyday necessities—including weapons used in Turf Wars.
