The Ballpoint Splatling (クーゲルシュライバー(JP)[a]) is an upcoming Main weapon in Splatoon 2. It is a Splatling that changes its rate of fire and range drastically between a single charge and double charge.[1]
Like other Splatlings, when fully charged, the charge indicator will complete two circles. While the brighter circle is being depleted, the weapon will have a high fire rate, short range, and low accuracy. After the first circle is depleted, the weapon stabilizes and the shots for the duration of the second circle will have double range, very high accuracy, and a slightly lower rate of fire. If is pressed before the aiming reticle returns to its original state, the weapon will charge and fire with the longer-range, higher-accuracy firing mode.
Unlike most other Splatlings and Chargers, and similar to the Bamboozler 14 Mk I, the Ballpoint Splatling does not gradually gain range with its charge, and the two firing modes each have a set range which never changes.
Appearance
The Ballpoint Splatling appears to be a multi-color ballpoint pen with four ballpoint cartridges inside a clear cover. The body is black with the butt and the cartridges' clickers in the user's ink color and the Nouveau logo in white. When charging the weapon, the clickers, cartridges, and butt of the weapon light up in a brighter color.
