The Chirpy Chips (ABXY in Japan) is a four-person chiptune-style band. Their songs, including Shellfie (Friend List in the JP localization), were added in Splatoon's August Update.

• Their Japanese band name ABXY is likely a reference to the , , , and buttons on the Wii U GamePad and other Nintendo controllers.
• The 4th member seems to be wearing a shirt with a design similar to the cover art for Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.
• The first member wears a shirt with a design similar to the Inkling version of Template:ZR.
• Just like Annie, third member from the left also has a clown fish in her hair and is a sea anemone. Their eyes also look similar.
• The letters on the album seem to resemble the band's Japanese name, ABXY.
• The Chirpy Chips/ABXY is the only band in Splatoon to have their name be changed for localization. The reason is unkown.
