All Inkipedians, this website has a problem. You likely know that Splatoon's online service is about to go to the great big cloud in the sky, and we have an issue. Some Splatoon only info, weapons, and gear (Like Traditional Headband, Saltspray Rig, or E-Liter 3K Scope) can't have pages made or added to, if we can't access the content itself. (To my knowledge, you need to enter the lobby to access recon and the training room.) For strategy or similar pages, unlike Octo Expansion, Return of the Mammalians, or Side Order, there is no other weapon but the Hero Shot in Octo Valley, so that isn't an available option either. This is a large problem. Even if the content is not Splatoon exclusive, things often change between games that could mess up how it would be documented, like how the wide layout of Hammerhead Bridge changed to be much more thin and hallway-like in the current Splatoon 3, and many weapons have different kits in Splatoon and generally different play styles. Many people say it's a lost cause, and it's too late because we have about under a month before Splatoon is gone, but truthfully, we really need to try our hardest possible, because the Splatoon part of this website we all seem to work so hard on, to devote even 5 minutes instead of doing other things like learning from Duolingo or tagging someone’s Inkstagram, is on borrowed time. Even if people have a Wii U and the gane to accompany it, that won't help much because they can't access most of the information, weapons stats, map info, and gear tidbits. This could render the all of our Splatoon information incomplete; forever. Obviously this is a major problem. But our month is not over yet, so let’s see what we can do! If we work hard, we might complete this!

The Player

These are the people with the game and are willing to help. They can devote even 10 minutes of their time to help our cause. These are the people who have Splatoon and what we need the most of. If one has the game, and can play online, they can add their what they find. If they feel unsure about what they will add, they can ask one of our (awesome) staff members to check their information, and they'll be happy to help! If someone knows a friend who has Splatoon and can play online, they should consider meeting up with them to play! Get them to help, and maybe have fun with some friends at the same time! If you have an old Wii U in your attic, dust it off and crack it open! For competitive strategy, they would have to main one of the weapons we need, and then add their tips, tricks, and recommendations. Some weapon priorities include Dual Squelcher, Custom Dual Squelcher, E-liter 3K, E-liter 3K Scope, Custom E-liter 3K, Custom E-liter 3K Scope, the Heavy Splatling Remix, N-ZAP '83, Sploosh-o-matic, Sploosh-o-matic 7, Custom Splattershot Jr., Tempered Dynamo Roller, and CoroCoro Splat Roller.

The Analyst

For people who do not have the game, this is an alternative. They can watch content online to help us finish our pages. This is the secondary, easier role. Some people can watch things like gameplay or playthroughs and help our cause from that alone! There are many gameplay videos across multiple platforms , such as YouTube, Twitch, Reddit, and Twitter! They can get others to help, as two heads are better than one! If they are watching on video streaming services however, they must be sure that what they are watching is legitimate and not modded, changed, and otherwise edited gameplay. (This would not include video trims, visual effects, and other harmless edits.) This role is very helpful so players who cannot interpret anything helpful from their own gameplay (or if they don’t have the game) can see someone else's, and try to help us from that. If a player who knows a potential annalist, they could ask them to analyze their own gameplay and then have it added to Inkipedia.

The Helper

This role is by far the easiest. All it involves is common sense and problem solving to find any issues, and seek out help for confirmation.The final, easiest role. This is for people who can't be a player, or annalist, but can use common sense and critical thinking to see problems. If they think something is missing, they can alert others through talk/discussion pages. Once the other two roles are aware, they can check to proof it, and add it. It’s best if they be tested by a player to be sure that it works, but analysts can help too. The suggestions of course must make sense, not like telling a Hydra Splatling main to rush base or an Inkbrush to backline. Even if helpers cannot do much, with enough good minds, we can succeed!

Conclusion

These are the roles that we can use. All of us Inkipedias hope you join our cause. If you can become one of these roles, or know someone who can, please help us work towards our goal of completion. Splatoon's life is running short, and Nintendo is not moving the deadline. If we all work diligently as Octarians do, we could have this seemingly enormous project done in under 2 weeks.
