The large enemy isn't based on a beluga whale

The large enemy isn't based on a beluga whale, but a species of fish with a similar head, having a large bump on its head that protrudes forwards and the same eye placement. As we're afraid of fish, we can't look for the particular species, but the Side Order enemy's appearance is too greatly different (a beluga's bump only protrudes slightly forward and its eyes are further back). It wasn't said that it was based on the beluga whale, it was said that the design of the Side Order's largest enemy has a head shaped the same and has a similar shaped figure. The enemies in Side Order weren't based off of beluga whales, that's easy to see, but they do have a similar design, which i'm pretty sure is what the trivia said. There are various similarities which I would say are worth noting, specifically the large bubbly shaped head. -Random 17:36, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That changes nothing. It's supposed to be resemble a fish, not a beluga Arceusgjengen (talk) 17:58, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Doesn't mean that it cant have a similar design. What it was meant to reference and the comparison are two different things. But saying that it looks similar to a beluga whale might be conspiracy, so i'll just stick with what you say. -Random 19:16, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
A few examples of fish with hump heads are the humphead parrotfish, humphead wrasse, and humphead cichlid (for others who are interested). Both belugas and humphead fish I've seen still have bigger faces in comparison to the hump than the enemy, though this is possibly stylization. I don't think it's completely unreasonable to compare it to a beluga, since most people probably associate the humps more with belugas than the fish 😢, but I agree that the fish are more likely to have been the actual inspiration. Particularly because there is a humphead parrotfish, the species the page already claims the enemies are similar to. Sourguppyworm (talk) 05:28, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
We reckon the page should note the humphead parrotfish, since the enemy only resembles a beluga because the humphead parrotfish does. Arceusgjengen (talk) 12:45, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's what i'm trying to convey, I know the two aren't based on each other, as the enemies resemble fish more, but the humps on the head are why I bring this up. I'm not saying they're the same, i'm saying it's worth mentioning, maybe a more general statement rather than just stating beluga whales? -Random 15:41, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

the enemy's name confirmed???

in "thatsrb2dude" latest video he said that he was invited by Nintendo to play a preview of side order, he also said that the enemy's are called gelatin or gelatins. do we add this to the page or wait till the dlc comes out?

also here's the video VioletOcto (Talk)Violet Octoling Mem Cake.png 14:23, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I saw someone else claim it was "geleton" (gel+skeleton). Until we have confirmed details like spelling I don't think we can add it to the page. Lyichir (talk) 15:01, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This article provides "Jelleton"; I've gone ahead and moved the page. Yoshifan52 (talk) 18:27, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Jelletons attacking eachother

Sorry for the spoiler, but during the Pinging Marciale boss battle, i'm pretty sure I witnessed the Battering Lento attacking (or at least attempting to) the Pinging Marciale, with the fact that on 8-Ball stages, usually the Lento are the only ones attacking the 8-ball, could this be a coincidence, or a bug (with Marciale being a ball and all)? Should it be noted on this page, or is it trivial enough to be ignored? I also could being seeing things, but I could've sworn at least twice the Lento charged at the Pinging Marciale and bumped into it, of course, the Marciale took no damage, but it looked like the Lento was still trying to harm it. -Random 05:22, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's trying to knock the Marciale into a bumper, not attacking it. It is intended. OE Icon Sanitized Octoling.pngWalrusSO Icon Gushing Trionfale.png(talk) 07:12, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The field guide page for the Lento (I think from Level 2 onwards?) explicitly mentions that it bumps other Jelletons into you, so this could likely be combined information. UnderFlorence (talk) 11:44, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you! I haven't read the guide yet so I didn't know that ^^ -Random 14:21, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

with a quick skim over the page for any "side order" images we could add/fix, i couldnt find any images that look like theyre from the weird jelleton list thing. (the one that documents stuff on the jelletons/bosses the more times you splat/beat them) do be not have an image for that or has just no one added it yet? Deltarune fan (talk) 23:14, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

wait, why does it look like its part of the "jelletons attacking eachother" topic? did i mess something up? Deltarune fan (talk) 23:15, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The Jelleton Field Guide & its associated images can be found at Jelleton Field Guide. As for the formatting of your post, you appear to have not included a header that would mark it as a new topic. S3 Icon Headspace.png Driftin Soul [Talk!] 23:26, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
