Octoling Tongues
In your most recent edit, you said Marina has a tongue. Could you link me to screenshot or a piece of art showing Marina's tongue? -Gulliblepikmin
It's part of her model. There's not a lot of artwork showing her with her mouth open wide,, but you can just about make her tongue out here: SaltySquib (talk) 03:06, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
Welcome
I see that no one left the welcome message for you yet. Here's a belated welcome to Inkipedia! Thanks for making that 1.2.0 update article! Heddy (talk) 05:25, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
No problem! Happy to be of service to the wiki SaltySquib (talk) 05:50, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
Autopatrolled status
Hey SaltySquib, I added you to the autopatrol group. This means that staff will no longer be required to review your edits. There are no other changes. Ver. 5.2.0
Thanks for noticing and adding the notes about the Tournament Manager! For whatever reason those were just straight-up not there when the patch notes first went live, which is why I missed them ^^; Driftin Soul (talk) 01:42, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
Oh, that would explain it! Guess everyone forgets some things SaltySquib (talk) 08:21, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
Edit summaries
Hey SaltySquib, I noticed that in a few of your recent edits you've been providing edit summaries that are keysmashes or just the letter 'a'. I'm guessing this is because you are aiming to get around the system warning you that you haven't provided an edit summary, and I just wanted to let you know that there is a setting you can toggle in preferences (under the 'Editing' tab) to make it so the system will not prompt you in that circumstance. Providing edit summaries is encouraged but not strictly required, so please consider toggling this setting off if you plan on making (or rather, not making) more edit summaries. Thank you! Alrighty, thanks for the tip! SaltySquib (talk) 22:49, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
About screenshots
Hey, thanks for adding some photo mode shots of environments for us! Unfortunately though, we can't use the ones you've provided as they still have the date & location stamp on the image in the upper right corner. In the future, please make sure to turn off both of those stamps in the "Set scene" menu if you would like to provide some more images so we can have the cleanest shots possible. Thank you! - Alright, thank you for the heads-up! SaltySquib (talk) 09:54, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Splatfest dialogues formatting
Hi! I just wanted to ask you to not use the dialogue format of Splatoon 2 Splatfest dialogues when documenting Splatoon 3 Splatfest dialogues. For Off the Hook dialogues, the wiki used to specify which of Marina's lines were said first, but since Deep Cut has three whole members that speak before each other and sometimes interrupt each other much more oftenly, the same formatting looks very messy and thus isn't used anymore. Instead, we break their lines into two whenever Frye speaks before Shiver and whenever Big Man speaks before Shiver and Frye. Here's an example from Baby Chicks vs. Li'l Bunnies vs. Bear Cubs (because I have it saved from earlier similar message):
- Incorrect
Dialogue | Dialogue | Region |
---|---|---|
Shiver “Can we take a step back? What does "fuzzy fluffiness" mean in this context?” |
Big Man “Ay. Ay! (Too bad only the baby chicks aren't extinct now. They're all so cute!)” |
|
Notes: Big Man speaks first. | ||
Shiver “Why, it seems so stunningly obvious when you put it like that.” |
Frye “Oh, I got this one! "Fuzzy" means soft. And so does "fluffy." Does that help?” |
|
Notes: Frye speaks first. |
- Correct
Dialogue | Dialogue | Region |
---|---|---|
Big Man “Ay. Ay! (Too bad only the baby chicks aren't extinct now. They're all so cute!)” |
||
Shiver “Can we take a step back? What does "fuzzy fluffiness" mean in this context?” |
||
Frye “Oh, I got this one! "Fuzzy" means soft. And so does "fluffy." Does that help?” |
||
Shiver “Why, it seems so stunningly obvious when you put it like that.” |
|
Even though Shiver and Big Man speak in the same 5th turn before the player would press A to continue, Big Man speaks before Shiver, and thus their piece of dialogue is split in BM5 and S6, and so Frye's next line will be F7 instead of F6, and Shiver's will be S8 instead of S6. That's the format we're using throughout the whole history of Splatoon 3 Splatfests. I sincerely ask you to stick to it, and I hope the provided examples will be helpful for any future edits you may contribute for the Splatfest dialogues! Cheers. Thanks. I'd used that kind of formatting before, but I noticed somebody used Splatoon 2-style formatting for SpringFest so I figured that was what we were supposed to do. It would be easy for me to switch back though. SaltySquib (talk) 07:15, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah it was Hyper Princess iirc, and I did let them know on their talk page as well. Back in the days of early Splatoon 3, we decided on Discord that the new format looks less confusing, so we use it from now on. Thanks to you too! Milchik (talk) 15:25, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
