Minor Edits

Hello! I was looking through the recent edits, and I noticed in an edit summary of yours that stated the following:
I would also like to ask what counts as a 'Minor Edit'? I do not want to accidentally mislabel and edit. Thanks!

To answer your question, minor edits are modifications to articles that will not significantly change the details of an article, such as fixing typos or adjusting wording. Typically, most edits are considered "minor," but if you feel that your edit was significant, feel free to not mark it as a minor edit.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I'm guessing this means that adding sections, editing tables, basically anything that 'adds new information' counts as a major edit? TheYoshiGang (talk) 19:17, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just to further clarify what minor edits really mean from a backend perspective: there's not really any specific hard line differentiating them from "normal" edits. They do have the option of being hidden from the 'recent changes' list if one sets their preferences to do so, but otherwise feel free to simply use your best judgment as to what is or isn't minor. We don't have any policy delineating how they should be used, so don't worry too much about getting it wrong! Driftin Soul (talk) 19:17, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok, just as long as it doesn't matter too much and I won't get into much trouble if I mislabel it, that was what I was most worried about. Thank you! TheYoshiGang (talk) 19:53, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
