Balloons in Battle Dojo

Balloons are destroyable items that appear in Splatoon's local 2-player mode, Battle Dojo, the tutorial, and various Hero Mode missions. They also appeared in the tutorial featured in the E3 Demo.

Appearance

Balloons appear in a variety of colors, tied to a weighted string that keeps them suspended in mid-air. In Battle Dojo, balloons are decorated with the Battle Dojo logo. Likewise, when found in the tutorial and the E3 Demo's tutorial, balloons are decorated with the Turf War logo, and when found in Hero Mode missions, they are decorated with the Hero Mode logo.

Functionality

Balloons act as targets when testing weapons and Splatoon's controls. An Inkling can pop balloons by splattering them with ink. In Battle Dojo, each popped balloon awards players one point, until there is one minute left in the round, when they instead award two. In Hero Mode, balloons contain Power Eggs that are collected when they are popped.
