New Policy

Hi there! If you would like new policies, then perhaps you could share the summarised version and then if it seems useful, draft up a full version in your Userspace somewhere. If all's good, the community will discuss it and an admin will move it over! There's no specific templates too help here, sorry :) Slate Talk Contribs 20:51, 3 October 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Team Changes

Hey, could you check out some of the team pages, like The Squid Box? I can't tell if the most recent information is accurate or not. We may consider locking those pages so that only autoconfirmed users can edit them if they end up being vandalized. - 23:39, 2 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Or we could go ahead with the notability policy - if that is followed then the pages should have links to external material and hence can be verified. Slate Talk Contribs 07:28, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'll take a look at the pages and try and source stuff where I can. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 12:27, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Leak category move?

I don't understand why you want the leaks category moved. The category has not been used before and its new purpose is a category for content that has been leaked. Slate Talk Contribs 17:04, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

To me, "Leak" implies how the info was revealed, not the info itself (which would be leaked content). Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 18:55, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I held a belief that leaked content was itself called a leak. After researching, I can't find anything to back this up.
It's been moved to Leaked Content. Slate Talk Contribs 21:28, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Psst I just noticed you're at the orange belt Barnsquid. Ya want it? I think the color's pretty cute. 😉

Regarding the Deletion of the Get Kraken Page

Hello. You asked for an explanation, here's my reasoning as to why we shouldn't delete the page. Team pages shouldn't be deleted because of a lack of notable tournament results. These pages serve the purpose of keeping track and history of the respective teams (regardless if their tournament placements are notable or not). Allowing some team pages but excluding others will only further a lack of knowledge within the competitive community. We want community members to be able to know about up and coming teams and/or teams that they might have missed. We need to understand that the top 5 teams aren't the only teams out there playing at a competitive level and that many other teams participate in almost every single tournament as well even if their placements aren't as noticeable.

I always try my best to gather as much information as I can before making team pages, while simultaneously keeping a track of their future tournament endeavors, so it's why I'm often very particular as to which team page I will create next and whatnot. I hope you understand where I'm coming from. Thank you for your time. — User:Username | talk

Perhaps there should be a further rule of team has competed in x number of tournaments? Slate Talk Contribs 08:05, 6 January 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

In theory, that would work, and I definitely get your point, but in reality, we'd probably have to create dozens of pages to cover all these teams. I'd be fine with making the notability criteria less restrictive, but I don't think we should basically have a participation criteria for teams to receive a page. Otherwise, we might end up covering teams that haven't actually made a significant dent in the scene, for lack of better phrasing. I will drop the issue on this particular team, however, as upon closer inspection, they have received a bit of coverage. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 12:52, 6 January 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Now that I'm here, what should I get started on before I become autoconfirmed after a few days pass, or do I have no choice but to wait, considering that most pages are currently restricted to autoconfirmed? Chúc Mừng Năm Mới 10:30, 15 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hello, Drilly! Nice to see you! We could use some help uploading the pictures of early versions of gear from here, if you can upload images. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 21:06, 15 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'll do my best. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới (Drilly) 23:47, 15 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'm done with the uploading portion, so now what? Should I just copy and paste whatever Safyire has on her/his sandbox onto wherever it's supposed to go? Chúc Mừng Năm Mới (Drilly) 08:12, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's Safyire's sandbox, please talk to them about making any changes - they may already be putting something together. 👌 --Bzeep! talk 20:28, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

What's with the many spambots recently? For all you and I know, SmashWiki wasn't like this. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới (Drilly) 19:22, 16 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I dunno. SmashWiki has had some recently, but it hasn't been nearly as severe. Even worse, there's very few options in terms of a range block. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 23:25, 16 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Our captcha wasn't working, pretty sure that was the only thing causing it. Prod got a new one though, so we'll probly be fine now. Expect human vandals only. 😛 --Bzeep! talk 00:04, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Come to think of it, are they really spambots or just normal people deliberately causing spam? If either one, explain how you know. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới (Drilly) 03:21, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Can't be 100% sure, but very likely spam bots due to how quickly they make new pages and the repetitive text they add to each one. The effort that would have to go into spamming as frequently/long as these accounts have really isn't worth any human's time, either. ~SuperHamster Talk 04:09, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Policies and guidelines

Am I allowed to add these? Drilly the Hedgehog 05:45, 1 March 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You're allowed to add a draft with Template:Proposal as the header. Consensus will determine if it is made official, of course. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 11:35, 1 March 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Look at my signature! Does it look great? GogglesKunInkling(Talk|Contribs)

Looks pretty good to me. The image is a tad big, but other than that, it's great. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 17:18, 8 June 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Patroller Rights

Some of the admins and patrollers thought your decision at making GogglesKunInkling a patroller was a bit rash. We think Goggles lacks the experience and have spelling mistakes. GogglesKunInkling sure is active but I haven't seen enough productive mainspace edits from that user. That's why we think we should hold on with that decision until further notice. 03:26, 19 June 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I had been considering it for a while, but I can respect that decision and am willing to stick with it. My logic may have been a bit misguided in the first place, so that's perfectly fine. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 11:18, 19 June 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Minor Problem

There seems to be some vandalism on the site. I removed what I could find. Sorry if there is still some remaining.--Snowwarrior92 06:31, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

Seems that you got it all. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 12:25, 25 June 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There is finally news about splatoon and you don't think we should feature it in the widget? I think it's worth mentioning in the main page since it shows there is news in the wiki that are happening. 17:27, 22 October 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It should be mentioned somewhere, but not in the Featured Articles section. I thought we had agreed on a system to place the best-written articles in that widget. We could have another "news" section on the main page or something. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 20:22, 22 October 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Could probably remove Splatfest section and have news/recent section instead. 21:37, 22 October 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sting Ray

Re: your comment "Someone must have mistranslated that tweet. The Splatoon Tumblr calls the last image the Inkjet and has this image for the Sting Ray." on File:S2 Sting Ray promo 1.jpg... nope! I just messed up and got the English names confused, and uploaded the Inkjet image rather than Sting Ray (the promo image for which didn't exist at the time). Thanks for catching my mistake. :P –Eli (talk) 08:28, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
