Flounder Heights
Template:Infobox stage Flounder Heights is a multiplayer stage in Splatoon. It was revealed during a Japanese promotional trailer depicting new updates on July 24, 2015. It was released on August 20th, 2015.
Layout
Flounder Heights is a map set on apartment complexes with many high vantage points and low, corner-based areas. Many insects (notably [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada cicadas) can be heard through out the area. The large amount of walls and the height of the buildings is what makes Flounder Heights so large.
Hazards
The only way to get splatted via falling in Flounder Heights is by falling out-of-bounds. This can be done by either falling through the fencing near the high edges of the map in squid form or jumping over the wall barriers surrounding the map.
Notable Locations
- Central Towers- The center of Flounder Heights contains two towers connected by a grated bridge. This is probably where most fighting will occur, as the only way to get to the other side of the map is by going over the towers or through the alley beneath the bridge.
- Low Alleys- These two alleys separate each team's base from the Central Towers. They each consist of one tree for cover.
- Starting Plazas- The bases in Flounder Heights resemble the Starting Areas in Saltspray Rig; the other team cannot reach the higher part of the plaza, and there are four ways of exiting into the Low Alleys.
- Live Map- On both sides of the map is a map that shows where ink from both sides of the map are, from a top-down perspective. It's not that useful as you always have a map with you on the Gamepad.
