  • Hello, I have been steadily adding more info to the page (It's my first major contribution to the wiki so please let me know how I can improve!) I added both interior and exterior shots of Hotlantis to the wiki, but which should be the thumbnail image? Thanks! Eightirl (talk) 18:58, 11 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • Would it be alright to add some more speculation identifying the signatures on the wall in the trivia section? Maybe an image labeling them all, to save piling up 30 lines of text to cover each individual signature? This tweet seems to have them figured out and suggests that they're all grouped by band, plus some cool tidbits like Off The Hook and the Squid Sisters entirely taking up the center row, and Ikkan's signature being positioned so it's grouped with both Squid Squad and Diss-Pair. Some etymology might also be nice. For example I think Harmony's signature is supposed to be a corruption of Pる or P-ru, to mean Paruko (her Japanese name), and Pearl's is definitely a corruption of ひめ, which is how she spells her name in the Splatoon 2 artbook. Anybody able to identify Japanese characters better than me could maybe take a crack at that. CupertinoEffect (talk) 06:54, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Seems that stickers and posters that Hotlantis sells change throughout the day and not just every 24 hours. For example, the squid sticker I can buy today was blue this morning, but when I came back later it had changed to the same sticker in red. Other times it's more drastic changes, like switching to entirely unrelated stickers. Not sure if it's based on time of day or if it factors in something like catalogue or player level. If anyone has an explanation, it should probably be on this page please. CupertinoEffect (talk) 07:20, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    The shops simply refresh 0 a.m. UTC.   Perfectionist   (talk) 08:03, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    • To clarify, I'm talking about some of the stickers refreshing between the daily stock refreshes. As in, the daily refresh happens and all of the stores get a new set of items for sale, and then at some point before another 24 hours have passed, some of the stickers at Hotlantis change again during the same day. During the current 24 hour period I've seen both the PTYSQD-B sticker and the PTYSQD-R sticker (the same design but in different colours) occupying the same slot, the blue one right after the refresh, and the red one right now. All the non-sticker items are the same. I bring this up here because I think Hotlantis is the only store that has a mechanic like this and if anybody knows what causes it then that info should be on the page. • Update: Enlisted a couple people (4 including me) to help experiment with this after today's store refresh. We all interacted with the game differently. One person didn't buy anything or gain any levels and just checked the store every couple hours, one person grinded levels without buying anything, one person bought things and got levels, and one person only bought non-sticker items. There are a bunch of other things we could also try but there's only four of us and we can only test this once each every 24 hours so that's what we've got. We staggered our experiments across different map rotations under the (wrong?) assumption that if the store updated it would be after the map update popup but time of day didn't seem to influence anything. What we found is that the mini-refresh doesn't happen until you both buy some stickers *and* gain a catalogue level, after which you have to go collect your reward from Harmony, leave the store, and re-enter, and then some of the stickers will be different. The ones who gained levels without buying stickers, or bought items that weren't stickers, didn't see any change. So our guess is you have to both claim a catalogue reward and buy stickers to make it happen. Specifically, the person who saw a change started the day with the stickers SQDYY-RO character, 3CH-B sticker, CTNGR8 sign, MNA? graffiti, and OKTBY character, in that order. They bought 5 small crates, 1 Commander Cephaloid, 1 SQDYY-RO sticker, and 5 3CH-B stickers (to try and see if buying a certain threshold of an item caused it to be replaced, wrong again). The connection between what you buy and which items change isn't 1:1 though, because it was actually the MNA? graffiti and OKTBY character that changed despite this tester not buying either of them, turning into the PRL? graffiti and SQDBDR character, respectively. Our best guess is that when you collect a reward it rerolls some of your stickers if you bought some stickers before claiming the reward, but that which store slots it rerolls are random. But we also only did one day of testing with only four people so it's possible there are factors we don't know about. It's worth noting that we've seen stickers that aren't in the last two slots change on earlier days (no screenshots sorry), and that the only thing we can confirm seeing change are stickers. Also like I said I observed yesterday, both of the replacement stickers are related to the original stickers. The graffiti became graffiti and the character became a character, like how the PTYSQD sticker I mentioned above changed colour but was still a PTYSQD. Before and after images for proof. We're not going to be testing how this works any further, this is all more to prove that stickers for sale in Hotlantis do in fact change in the middle of the day separate from the daily store refresh, so that somebody who can figure out the exact logic behind it can eventually explain why it happens on the main page. Wrong name in Japanese

In the page, it says that Hotlantis in Japanese is "竜宮城" (Ryūgūjō,) but in Japanese, it's actually called: "ザッカ屋" (Zakka-ya) not "竜宮城." ザッカ屋 means "general store" in Japanese. I play the Japanese version, and it clearly says "ザッカ屋." So I think we should change it. Thanks! Mikan (talk) 18:15, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If this is something you noticed, you can change it! Anyone can edit these pages. Thanks for noticing, though! Arivaki-Kun S2 Gear Headgear Golden Toothpick.png JPTGoldDynamoRoller.png S3 Badge Classic Squiffer 5.png (banter) 18:24, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
