On line 140, it was switched from "removes the explicit gender option, seems to remove any gender locks on customization features" to "refers to genders as styles, allows both genders to access any hairstyles and legwear", where this doesn't seem explicitly true. Yes, the left style is more feminine, and the right more masculine, but that doesn't mean that those are just renamed genders; as Nintendo is straying away from explicit 'Male or Female'. I think this change in particular should be reverted. Thank you to anyone who replies, Mechanic (talk) 18:12, 13 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

World Premiere and screenshots

Since we have our hands on the World Premiere and are able to take higher quality screenshots of each customization option, is a revitalization of this page OK? Colorized (talk) 15:27, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Doing this now, slowly but surely. Images coming next Colorized (talk) 21:17, 1 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Recent major edits

Almost all done with the overhaul! I wanted to wait until the game is released and we can access the equip screen before I redo the hair section for conformity and clarity with the rest of this page. There's still some parts outdated, missing, or low quality (Style selection, eye colors, skin colors(?)) but I'll get to them later. Colorized (talk) 22:49, 1 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey...

I noticed that in the eye color gallery for Splatoon 3, there isn't an image for the white iris eye color. Can someone add that? Chivalryn (talk) 21:10, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I will do that. ChromeWolfOC.png Chrome WolfChromeWolf logo.jpg (🎙, 🗂) 21:48, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Alright, thank you! Chivalryn (talk) 17:27, 1 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I am not sure what to do..

The haircut labeled with the caption "Haircut" was a bit confusing, because on TikTok, most people refer to it as the "Chanel" haircut (to my knowledge). Will someone try to fix this?? I don't want to mess anything up. SunnysideSophie (talk) 22:43, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The official name is Haircut. "Chanel" is a fan name making it unofficial. Using an unofficial name would make the name wrong. Odd S2 Splatfest Icon McNuggets.png (Talk) 23:21, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Splatoon 3 eye colors

I noticed that some of the eye colors' icons haven't been updated to the current icons for them like the icon for brown eyes look purple instead, since it was from the announcement teaser rather than the final game where the icon color is correctly colored to match the previews for the latter.

I just noticed that. I don't know how to upload files, but maybe somebody else can do it. Rat L. Boy (talk) 14:46, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New format

The Splatoon 3 section is just way too long, and has too many subpages. I created a page with expandable tables and I think this new format looks much nicer, and more compact. What do you think? Should we leave the format as is, or use the expandable table format? Splatunie (talk) 00:06, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

While I do agree it is long, I am against the use of adding more collapsible elements, as hiding content is not generally user friendly and would increase load time. Furthermore, when uncollapsed, the page ends up being even longer. I do like the idea of condensing content to a table, so I will try to work on something with that thought process to get to a cleaner solution. Trig - 00:52, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

baggy sweatpants

i believe this legwear option should be changed to "low-crotch pants" as it is more accuate to what it is. the splatoonjp tweet that showed these pants called them "サルエル" pants which means low crotch pants in slang. i imagine the names listed for these legwear are taken too seriously as its something odd to be really specific about, but this name does kinda bug me. ASARIDEAD (talk) 00:37, 10 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

arent* taken too seriously ASARIDEAD (talk) 00:38, 10 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
additionally, the legwear item listed as "drawstring cargo shorts" arent actually cargo, because they lack the gusset pockets. to be fair, i dont know what i would call them either, but the drawstring is still the main feature so id keep that part. Hello, try to make use of the edit function or better formulate your question, rather than multiplying comments.
If the original name is サルエル then it would be better to use the proper traditional name, sarouel, rather than slang using words such as... crotch. For the drawstring cargo shorts, you're free to remove the cargo part if you find it more fitting. Anemoia Anemoia Sig.png [Talk!] 00:45, 10 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think I am going to make the edit now. Sorry, I was being lazy before. The Japanese tweet calls them Saroeul pants because that is the slang name for them that is more understood there. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was actually saying sarouel is more or less the slang name, and that "low-crotch pants" is the proper name for them here in north america. thats what their wikipedia page calls them.
I dont really see why it would be innappropiate to call them low crotch pants as referring to them as anything else may allude to them being a traditonal kind of pants such as sarouel/sirwal when really theyre a modernized version often worn by hip hop artists called "low crotch pants" or "drop crotch pants". If saying crotch is really a problem, then sure, I will say Sarouel.
As for the drawstring cargo shorts, I think I will actually keep it how it is. They may not have pockets and therefore dont fit criteria, but the drawcord hem that they have obvioisly allude to the cargo style. ASARIDEAD (talk) 20:19, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
