Cannot move page

I'm trying to move this page to The Crater, but it won't let me because there is a redirect page called The Crater. If someone could delete the redirect that would be great! OrderSquid38 [Talk] 00:26, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Returning to the crater

You can return to the crater. I added it, but I'm not sure how to add a Heading. If someone can add that it would be great:D ~~~ OCTOd2 (talk) 14:23, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Splatoon 3 Player Tutorial

The Crater's the same place that the player starts out with in the Tutorial (with the Eiffel Tower being a dead giveaway). I think this is worth adding information about, but I don't know how to approach writing for it. Teajai (talk) 09:19, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Maybe add it in the trivia? Something like "it is possble that the player starts in the crater as the Eiffel Tower can be seen in the distance in both locations" Ryaan (talk) 16:38, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Shouldn't Octavio's battle quotes be in here?

Same as the title -Random 16:36, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well, his quotes are already in the L3.GS battle, alongside Cuttlefish's, and they wouldn't fit here as the crater is more of the overworld. I get that the battle also takes place there, but it's not really part of it, if you get what I mean. Ryaan (talk) 16:43, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

"Identity" of the tower

There's been some back-and-forth about this in the past that's been mostly settled, but it seems like there's still ongoing misconceptions so I'd like to provide some evidence for posterity:

Regarding the ruined tower in the Crater, there's been discussion about whether it literally is a specific real-life tower or not (whether that be the Eiffel Tower or Tokyo Tower) or if it's simply some non-specific fictional tower inspired by one, the other, or both. Ultimately we have no way of knowing which of these two possibilities are intended without information from official Splatoon media or related channels such as developer interviews, of which no such info exists that I know of. So let's instead focus purely on the resemblance of the Crater tower to the real-life ones.

In this light, I would posit it's undeniable that the Crater tower strictly only resembles the Eiffel Tower; you can see this resemblance illustrated by the below comparison image (from left to right: Tokyo Tower, inverted for ease of comparison, then the Eiffel Tower, and finally the Crater tower as seen in a Sunken Scroll illustration):

You can see that the visible parts of the Crater tower clearly match the structure of the Eiffel Tower almost 1:1. Although Tokyo Tower is indeed inspired by the Eiffel Tower, it is not an exact replica and is only vaguely similar in that it is also a lattice tower with a four-legged structure. I don't believe it's similar enough to warrant being mentioned when there's clearly a much more exact real-life tower to compare to. Driftin Soul [Talk!] 01:28, 18 April 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@BigManFan746 please refer to the above at your convenience. Thanks, Driftin Soul [Talk!] 01:28, 18 April 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Addendum: I've also realized after looking through older discussions in our Discord server that the textures for the tower appear to be internally labeled "EffelTower", so that's another strong piece of evidence in favor of saying that Tokyo Tower should not be invoked.
